Christian Health Ministries

A devout, dedicated, committed, rock-solid, "walking-the-talk" Christian should desire a Christian Sharing Ministry health plan over the secular ObamaCare health insurance. Galatians 6:2 says that supporting and assisting like-minded brethren is priority #1.

Amen Brother AC!

Nothing like a good ole fashion bible-thumpin' to get my day started.

As long as you're not a pagan heathen CHM is a fine program....they don't offer it in Cali....sorry left coasters....lol

Lost another one to Christian Healthshare. We had such an astronomical rate increase on our biggest carrier (and people didn't open their renewals or respond to my phone calls in the fall), a lot of them have been surprised by what they were charged for insurance in January and are now jumping ship.

And these are the healthy ones. Last death spiral of Obamacare.

Medishare is one that has a PPO network and many options. It also will avoid tax penalty for you. They have a pre-existing policy though so my wife's previous breast cancer in remission would have serious repercussions if she relapsed.

Yeah that's what makes me hesitant about them. My wife had colon cancer. The reoccurrence rate should be small with all the cat scans and colonoscopies she will go through the rest of her life.

But how to they treat other cancers that pop up?

What does your contract say with regard to p-x? Anything about X years without treatment?

Colon and breast cancers have a tendency to metastasize to other parts of the body, sometimes years after the initial incident.

If one of my family members had a history I would be extra sure I understood how p-x was addressed.

I haven't purchased any plan like this yet.

And what happens when you get into a bad accident? Get cancer? Heart attack? Stroke? Diabetes? Surgery? Rehabilitation? Medical Equipment?

Do you have a family? Do you have children? Are you putting them first?

What happens to all of the future plans you made? Hopes and dreams that you work towards everyday? How will have hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills and bad credit following you around effect all of those things that you wanted for your family?

How does your insurance plan protect you from those things?

How do you feel about that?

See where I am going with this?

Do other religions here in the USA have the equivalent of Christian healthcare cost-sharing plans?

Maybe there's no need, if anyone who lives a clean life can join a Christian sharing ministry that's been sanctioned by the Affordable Care Act.

CHM and other programs are nonsectarian. To my knowledge you must be a professed Christian, affiliated with a "Protestant" church. I don't believe just anyone can participate. Part of the application process is a recommendation from your pastor.

A good friend and fellow agent is Jewish and has been intrigued by this concept. He says there are no equivalent Jewish organizations.
