I don't know why the DOI's allow this crap.
DOI has no jurisdiction over these plans since they are not insurance. The ones that have been shut down were closed by the AG

I gained a client today that was on a chm plan last year. They were sold a bill of goods, even had gold plan on the card, but it was nothing but a discount plan where they tried to negotiate the price down. Well the guy ran up $60,000 of medical bills last year even with their so called discount and chm said there is nothing we can do. They also would not pay for preX which they did not understand since obamacare was suppose to pay.

I have lost three in the last week to these health-share ministries
(off exchange people).
They have just been priced out of the market and they are willing to take the risks. Sucks for us.
I lost 2 families this yr. They just couldn't afford paying over a $1000 a mth for HI.
A devout, dedicated, committed, rock-solid, "walking-the-talk" Christian should desire a Christian Sharing Ministry health plan over the secular ObamaCare health insurance. Galatians 6:2 says that supporting and assisting like-minded brethren is priority #1.
Not quite lol. But maybe you're joking.
Read the verse before it. It's talking about spiritual burdens. 3 verses down in Galatians 6:5 it says: "For every man shall bear his own burden."
Gotta read things in context
Right. Your burden is first, and then the burdens of like-minded believers. Then comes the Marketplace QHP's.
Resurrecting a thread that is almost a year old. Get tied up in traffic?
Haven't paid much attention to CHM or any of the other sharing plans. Would never recommend them but understand the appeal (lower monthly dues vs premiums).
You say the money hole is Rx. No cost sharing or no cap on your OOP? Is the Rx just a discount card?
Decided to see what the web has about CHM. Whoa!
CHM Levels
No Rx coverage unless you have the Gold plan.
$125 per illness/accident cap plus another $100k shared by members per year. (Unlimited sharing with Gold plan).
No OB coverage, only hospital charges.
Overall it has a lot of holes.
