Cold Doors 2020 - Discussion Thread

.....when you door knock people who have those video doorbells....then less than 3 min later they pull up out of nowhere

I've adjusted my door knock strategy for those people with video doorbells and only ring/knock on them once because I'm realizing they can talk on those from their cell phone and if they don't answer the door or their video doorbell then they're completely ignoring so a waste of time to knock more than once on those.
I cold knock too. I disregard video door bells. I consider knocking on them to be a total waste of my time. All I want to know is are they interested. And I do not want to have a conversation through one of those things. You might say that I really am "Old fashioned." LOL

disregard video door bells.

I never ring a bell. I knock. Every door - whether cold or a lead - gets knocked with "shave and a haircut, two bits!"

Funny as all get out when I have someone ansewr "what the hell you banging on my door for?!"

I say, "Well, I was going to tell you 'til you answered that way. Have a nice day." And I turn and walk away. About one out two will actually call after me and tell me they're sorry and ask what I was there to tell them. People are phunny.

Oh, you're perfectly healthy but you've moved 3 times in the last 10 years (to increasingly nicer homes/neighborhoods)? Too bad, you're standard.

BULL.

Had exactly that on a guy that recently retired from the military. Between his retirement and disability he makes nice money. Came home, lived with the in laws for a short while, was offered a very nice salary in Colorado for a contractor. Moved again to a very nice house. Standard due to Lexus Nexus. I rewrote him so it worked out OK but I lost some credibility.

Last month I wrote a a client. Two years ago I her Sagicor, P NT. Wrote her additional larger Sagicor. Standard due to Lexus Nexus. No other explanation. Again, worked out OK but makes me look incompetent.

Been a long time since I have written any FU plans of sizable amounts... You mean they hold a person's changing residence against them? What else do they use Lexus Nexus for?

It's basically like this crazy credit check.

They take so much into account. I had the client I described send me the report and it was 160 pages long.

I ended up getting him preferred with Principal but like Wino said, it's a credibility hit. And who the hell is going to field underwrite this stuff?

I had an annuity client with a NY drivers license but a legit residence in Fl. Goes to Fl for several months each year. Lexus Nexus determined that he spends too much time in NY (running credit on where most of his charges occurred) and determined that he wasn't eligible for a Fl product.

Again, complete BULL.

We are not far away from AI being able to scan your social media (which can already be done by humans) and checking your actual credit card purchases to factor into underwriting.

So you go the the liquor store a few times per week, eat pies at a diner, and go to the butcher too much, rated.
