mabe so but why play these delay games..What should be well known for any new agent and also told to them by the employer is that you should definitely have at least a months worth of bills paid

I should have been more clear when I say "appointment" that is your writing number and the 'good to go'.

I hate to say this because I dont want to come off as negative but you are gonna wish you had a FEW months of your bills paid, and the head games will never end with them.
They will try and brainwash you to the point that you have "stockholm syndrome" that is how most career agencies work.

Are their products good and do they have a place in the market MAYBE, are they the best NO are they worst NO.
Are there better companies YES but you do have to start somewhere and I geuss there could be worst places.

Please remember this is not ment to come off as negative this is just what I have learned over the past 10years I have been in this business.

I do have an appointment(can't get a license without an appointment) just not an okayed contract and a writing number after over two weeks but was showing up every day to learn the ways. Disorganization makes for an uncomfortable time. It kills my hope of having the right job especially since I have worked hard to get my license on very little income. Seems like the policies are beneficial and they have been nice to me but that doesn't pay the bills.

mabe so but why play these delay games..What should be well known for any new agent and also told to them by the employer is that you should definitely have at least a months worth of bills paid already since they are not willing to work fast enough for you or trust you as they hire you. this all should have been done prior to me spending weeeks working for them without a finished contract. feels like a spiders web..I have confidence in my ability to sell as long as I am not trained one way and told to do it a differeing way, just let me be and see what I can do, with of course at least having the knowledge of the product. We all have our styles and are not robots..

I agree with the rest of these guys. I am appointed to sell with Colonial, a competitor of AFLAC's, but I don't. However, when I first got into the business I called on at least 30 businesses a day, and of the decision makers I spoke to, 95% had AFLAC. What are you going to sell if you walk into one of these businesses?

I know this is negative, but cut your ties with AFLAC and go make some money somewhere. AFLAC is going to lead you into being broke and unemployed. If you are on unemployment I am sure you need the money and AFLAC is not the place to find it.

Have any questions, you can email me at [email protected] . I currently am working with enough agents so I am not working with any new agents for now, but I can answer your questions and point you in the right direction. Shoot me an email for my number.

Keeptruckin,

I'm well established in my insurance business and can always make time to help a new agent get started. I've never turned an agent away who needs help.

Feel free to call me anytime. If I'm on the phone please leave a voice mail and I will call back. It may be in the evening but I do return phone calls.

I still remember what it was like when I first started.

the thing is in order to be an agent registered in FL you have to have an appointment my porblem is the contract is what is taking so long ..they do a backround check which the state already did and till the insure co approves than I get the wrting number.. wish they would have been more up front on their ways because it has taken a lot of my time and money which is not growing on trees..why hire me only to put me off. It sure isn't a moral booster.

I hope you dont get discouraged from all the feedback it can be daunting. I just think you need to speak to some UNBIASED agents I personaly would give Frank a call and atleast hear him out and Im sure he will even let you vent a little too.

I would not put it, with the right direction you could potentialy have a paycheck in 2 or 3 weeks.

Also I dont recruit you can give me a call too and I can point you in the right direction of some other agents I would trust, Ive been in the business since 2000 and I wouldnt do anything else BUT I have been where you are too.

I appreciate your input. And I think you are oh so right on the savings. As it is the game can be dragged out for two months it seems between waiting to get a writing number and than to go to their school of learning how to sell and maybe teach about the products. this is around a two to three week process or more. so yes I am looking at two months but if I have any luck they may have a writing number waiting in the wings of their duck.

Thank you for your advice and everyone else . beleive me I am feeling the hopelessness and am trying to work thru it..I may just do that and actually may just go back and visit another state where my family is and it is a reciprocating state with mine for insurance. I will have to check that out. Florida is not having a good go of it for most on unemplyment being one of the highest. Not sure if that makes a great market. I do truly beleive though some of these plans they offer are beneficial to those who do run into problems, as long as they pay out. Peace Bro and God Bless.

I think you should take in everything going on and figure out what you think works for you. I'd put $20 on you not lasting there more than a month after the appointment goes through, but most of us got burned when we got started and that's how we learned.
Id put 100.00 , where do I collect?

Get other appointments while you wait...do they snoop over your shoulder and make sure you are only appointed with them?
yes it is exclusive. but I still don't have the contract completed on their end 2 and a half weeks later..they really should have been up front on their lazy ways.

Why not get appointed with other companies instead?

It is amazing how much an employer can screw you around and we have little or no rights. contracts do not do much for you if the employer isn't willing to hold up their end of the deal. IT is a legality to hold you by the law. What happens if you try to have your rights backed up by a contract? Whos their to defend you? Insurance agents need a strong union all over the country. What happened to the unions? Did they crumble? Yes they got too big for their britches at times but they also serve important purposes.
