COPD + Insulin

Assurity might depending on if there is oxygen use and how well controlled the diabetes.

I have had good luck with Monumental COPD cases... and they also have very competitive smoker rates to go along with that.

Well said...:D

I too am looking for a copd company, wondering if Assurity or Monumental is the best way to go...how do the two compare for smokers and price etc..?

I was just responding to this comment by PaperHanger, and stated he had a COPD case. You're right tho. Insulin would make that 2 yes's.

I have heard on this forum that Assurity underwriting can be sporadic. Monumentals decision to do PHI can also be very sporadic, and there is another thread on here about this, but if this thing is ordered, its game over. I sat in on a PHI interview done by Univita, and its a 25 min ordeal.

I have learned to just document everything on health sup app with Monumental. The dosage., times a day, and reason for use. A new business guy at the HO told me if I document everything, they only order a PHI about 10% of the time on average.

If they have COPD only I use Monumental. If they take insulin with or without COPD I go straight to 5-star.

No one except Monumental gives 1st day coverage with COPD. But they are a bad choice for anyone on insulin except a few cases where insulin was 1st used between ages 18-39. Insulin + COPD will only give you 2-year graded with Monumental at a very high rate. No reason to ever use them in these cases.

Insulin + COPD will give you graded 30/70/100 with 5-star at a much lower premium.

Where can I get a good 5 star contract?
