COPD + Insulin

the short answer is yes... it sucks

the long answer is

They got tougher on diabetes, if diabetes related pills were prescribed within 2 years they knock it to modified. They used to not care.
they now have a ht and wt chart.
Not a great smkr rate.
They have a new confusing cancer question that I still get confused with sometimes.
"Have you ever had or been diagnosed with more than one occurrence of the same or different type of cancer?"

used to be a 2 year look back on kidney, liver, and copd... and now its have you ever been. otherwise it goes to graded.

the phi time wise is about the same, but in the end it did get "better" what happened is the health questions got wordier so that lengthens it, but they did make some subtle changes to make it easier too. All the disclosures they would read, they now read to us the agent, and we can agree to it. They also used to make the proposed insured read out their names, address, and DOB back to apptical, and they finally knocked that off. Average PHI interview is 15 min for me. about 7 min with me and 8 with the client.

I have honestly learned to just appreciate getting the POS done though. Recently Having Monumental order some PHI is just a disaster, and I'm a control freak. I like to feel like Im controlling the situation. I want to be there when its happening.

they did clean the app up. without replacement forms the agent has 1 signature. the client has 2. 5 pages long.

they definitely got tougher on underwriting in my opinion, but they still have their place. Like this case I was talking about. This guy was on plavix, coreg, HPB meds, Cholesterol meds, and was taking a lot of insulin for diabetes, and he smoked, and I got a great rate for him,

Thx, I need to use them to see for myself if its worth it or not....kinda hard tho if I see RNA rates that are lower, but someone has to be the guinea pig, lol!

When do u find they are the best choice....for what medical FE situation typically?

As I look over the RNA app. I would say their are really only 2 things that favor Foresters.

RNA: Prior to age 50 and within last 3 years any strokes, heart attacks, heart surgeries, pacemakers, etc.

Foresters: Only ask within the last 2 years.

RNA ask about insulin use prior to age 50 where Foresters does not really care about insulin.

I think if you're writing RNA as your primary, I would stick with it. RNA is a better app.

I just deal with foresters because of my contract.

RNA is a great company and one of my primary. I have another company (SLA) that orders medical records on simplified issue..lol they have best rates here in FL.. but man, the underwriting is difficult. I don't deal with Foresters but I might pick up a contract if I can get somebody like this immediate coverage with those conditions...well worth it. I will probably get a hold of Todd king or another IMO.
