Death To Us All

Good Morning All,
Thank you all for the info and thoughts on Aflac. I'll allow the topic to get back on subject and apologize for my redirect. Once again thank you for the information. I have decided to continue on with "PLAN A" which is finishing what I started with the Accounting degree, while watching what happens to your business after B/O,:1wink: puts his plan into action this Fall. I hope he doesn't screw things up for you folks.

While busy with my school and working my current pumping system business, I'll be staying around here and watching the trends with you guys and your companies.

Have a great day and make a bunch-o-money!

I am very concerned about this fall and what agenda BO comes out with. What ever it is its most likely going to get passed.

Right now the buzz is a two health plan system. Private and Gov. We all know if that happens then the Gov. health plan system will hurt the private system and there will be a reduction of carriers. Regional carriers will be a thing of the past.

Now I have a theory that the Gov health care system would eventually have adverse selection. The healthy people would come off and get a better rate in the private market. How long would this take? I am thinking at least 7 years. 7 years is a long time to sell ancillary products.

I think BO will not screw with the group health plans. In fact I think he will penalize the company that do not offer health benefits. This would pertain to large group. Small group market you can kiss good bye.

The Gov. Health plan will have even deeper discounts than private. So the Doc's will be working for a lot less that means the private market will eventually have better treatment and service.

I think BO has no idea what he is doing. All the people around him are academics with little real world experience.

This is all a pipe dream! There may be incremental reforms to health care. First thing that has to be accomplished before real reform will happen is cost containment. Otherwise, the system will go bust! Another concern is how we will pay for this reform? No one has a clear answer as of yet. No money no reform.

Isn't it nice for the American people to have yet again bitten down hard on a president candidate that has promised reform.

Although we're only 100+ days into Obama we have nodda, zilch, zip, zero. We have no real pending legislation and really, not even a single solid proposed plan.

If it's underground, which is might be, fine but it's absolutely not on Obama's plate of top things to do right now.

I think the COBRA bill was a way for Obama to save a little face with "Hey, I'm doing something!" Beyond that...nodda.

Gee, I don't know about that. We are only 100 days in and he has already gotten an 870 billion dollar down payment approved in the budget with more to follow. I suspect he will find a plan to go with the money since it is always easier to find a plan than it is to find money and votes. So far he has the votes and the money. That is a dangerous combination.

The financial crisis set his timetable back and the fact that Daschle was not approved also cost some time. He has said though that he wants a plan in place by the end of August and Sebelius is testifying before Congress today on a health care plan, or a start anyway. This thing is not going away.

More to come. By the end of the summer, there will be some really wild and crazy proposals floating around. Some of them wont pass. Some of them will.

Obama did announce in passing today that he was not planning to cut medicare advantage until 2012 so there is a tidbit there.

True Winter! However, the estimated cost over 10 years is 1.5 Trillion. Wheres the other $700 billion going to come from? I believe that the insurance industry will have their way, but will the agent/broker be included is another story.

Obama has announced a plan for cost containment. Don't forget, he is going to computerize all the medical records.

The plan he announced yesterday equals one half of one percent of the budget, and even then he cannot be sure that Congress will approve all of them. Don't worry though, he is going to let you post on his website any ideas you may have.

As an aside, all of the cuts he proposed yesterday were proposed by Bush but rejected by the Democrats.

The other thing that blows my mind is the way the lib media just repeats his tripe as fact. I have heard them flat out say several times "that obama plans to reduce the budget by implementing a national health plan." What the hell does that mean in the real world?
