Delivery Receipts

Re: Delivery Recipts

My experience has been more good than bad comes from it. Are there gonna be some people pissed because they see that on the door? YES! Just like there are gonna be some people PISSED that you called them to set an appt. (because they thought you were gonna mail them info). THERE ARE JUST PISSED OFF PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD. You just weed those out anyway. I believe it helps me be more efficient w/ my time. It also depends what your lead card says in the first place. My lead card leads them to believe they will receive more info about life insurance for final expenses because it says it on my mailer. When they call me I let them know I was working their zip for that day and I stopped by to give them the info they wanted. Then I schedule a time for the future. When I lived in a smaller city I used to drive out there right then and there when they called after looking at my caller id to see who was calling. I'd usually catch them at home when I did that and get in the door or set a future appt. RARELY would someone be pissed off after I showed them their handwriting and the card they filled out requesting more info. Maybe it's my size OR CHARM:nah: but I find people are VERY NICE to me in my face and it's MUCH easier for them to be rude to me or hang up on me over the phone.

The lead cards I use say "life insurance" on them. When I call people I tell them I'm calling about life insurance.

I do not doorknock unless it's a last resort. When I used the delivery notices it was only for people with no phone number on the card and no phone number I could locate and usually after doorknocking them a couple of times.

I always got a call back on the delivery notices. I can't ever remember not getting a call from one. They were never pleasant calls.

I probably haven't used the notice in about 2 years now. I will leave a note with my card at those last resorts now. I get very few callbacks from that but, when I do, it's a good call.

I find the delivery notice to be deceptive and I chose to not do business in a deceptive manner.

To each his own. If you don't feel that way about them then use them.

I also had experience with people being pissed so I stopped then I changed the notice to have a check box with we had an appt and the appt time. I only leave them on doors of people who I had an appt with that has worked out well.

Who cares about people being pissed? I'm pissed that they mailed the card in and won't answer the phone.

They requested the information, they filled the card out and put it in the mail. I'm just doing what they wanted.

The ones who get pissed about it, I find those to be the most fulfilling. You are not going to sell those people anyway. When they have that big let down that their not getting a free package from Amazon it will teach them to be more responsible.

It's one way to get a victory against the "agent Killer" prospect.

That's why I said I only use them if I want to piss somebody off. I certainly don't use them to get sales.

Yeah I'm with Hoosier on this. I don't mind upsetting them. Esp if they won't answer the phone lol and are never home.

It doesn't bother me to upset them either but I thought we were talking about the effectiveness of them to generate sales?

I think they are effective... I have sold many policies using them and pissed off a lot more. JD will agree it is simply a tool to help get through your leads. One final way to attempt to have some type contact with the prospect. If nothing less it allows me to throw the lead away with no 2nd thoughts.

I didnt track the #'s exactly...but its generated A LOT more sales for me then its pissed ppl off, thats all I know! I can probably count on 1 hand how many ppl were pissed off by it, give or take.

Ppl in every city/state wont react the same to the samethings. Case in point, here in Cali if you call ppl several times in 1 day, like I believe JD posted not too long ago about his appt setting routine...you will PISS ppl off waaaaayy more then those notices, I could never get away with that. I dont ever call more then twice in a day. But what works for me, may not work for you in your area & vice versa!

Plus on the notices I write "Information Requested", so like maybe 1 out of 15 ppl think its an actual package. FE is trial & error, there are certain things that will work everywhere & certain things that maybe unique to "your neck of the woods"!
