Did You Ever Feel Like Quitting Insurance?

the grass is always not greener.... thats something I always have to remember. Its hard to get negative about this industry. its tough! But, gotta remember the positives and that everything worth doing, is not always easy.

I am also not an insurance agent but have seen my friend many time thinking of quitting the job. But finally a client calls and he is again on the boat.

It's taken me a while to figure out this business. (I have a sticky thread in the Getting Started forum that outlines a bunch of advice based on my own experiences.)

Not everyone stays long enough to figure it out... so step one in making it in this business is the decision to stick it out until you figure it out. John Savage (old-time producer who died in 1993) said "The best way to make it in this business is to last." He failed for 9 years before he "suited up".

Did I ever quit this business? Sure did a few years ago. Here's what I discovered: the business was in my blood... and it wasn't ever going to leave me.

So, I can either GET GOOD and become prosperous in this business... or leave the industry and get training somewhere else. I'm staying.

That's why I really like helping new people to see the reality of this business and give them some ways to avoid the major pitfalls that I experienced.[/quote]

......... I've never really felt like quitting I just wondered what it would be like to quit, and then I wondered what I would do if I quit? That would provide me the freedom, flexibility, the income the learning experiences, the interactions with interesting people, the opportunities, the vision the romance well maybe not the romance but you know what I mean. The goove, man the excitement of wondering how I'm going to make it happen for the client and make it good for my family. The ? That's why I'm still in the game after almost 20 years.

I've inly been in the business about half a year now and not a day goes by that I don't wonder if I'm gonna make it-maybe I should just quit while I'm ahead.
So why don't I? Well for starters I knew coming in that it would be tough but that's why there's so much potential. I know it sounds cliche...but no pain no gain and the good things in life don't come easy!

I think about quitting all of the time. In fact, I will in about five years. By that time, the health insurance business will be done.

Yeah a 1000 times since 1988 finally bought a golf course in 2012 and for the first time I feel like I'm doing something I love. I still do insurance and investments for maybe 15 hours a week but only from an office I set up in the clubhouse
