Direct Billing Question

Well Ill give my 2 cents and thats what its worth so dont cry. I wont write a direct bill. There I said it, my presentation is designed to find out how they are paid, by who and when all within the first 3 minutes of talking to them. If they dont have a checking / savings account or DE card Im outta there. I just dont trust them. No go ahead and crucify me for being me LOL

Ever since the government stopped mailing checks... I personally have not come across one prospect that did not have either a bank account or direct express card.

Agreed with Travis and John; those of us who were around before Uncle Sugar required accounts to deposit checks into implemented the account language specifically to pre-qualify earlier rather than later into the sales call whether or not the client would qualify or not for a plan.

Nowadays, the primary reason to use the account prequalification language is to determine whether or not I will put them with a debit/credit card carrier (Security National), a Direct Express carrier (Trinity/Transamerica/SNL), or any carrier, as I do not want to create a new objection of offering a plan with better coverage that a prospect cannot qualify for, as they do not have the proper account to draft from.

Even most of working stiffs who aren't getting a check, have some sort of reloadable Wal-Mart card to hit monthly; drafting from an account nowadays has never been easier, especially with the disabled/retired market of final expense prospects.

I do my fact finding on their health before I fact find about bank account. But when it's time it's as simple as asking.

Does Social Security deposit your money into a bank account or one of those government cards?

If I get any resistance at all I just follow up with: the reason I ask is some companies work with both and some only work with one. That will help us decide your best option.

Never have any problem getting the info and I feel like I waste more time going into that first before I see if I can match the people with health and premium amount. But I'm definitely no efficiency expert. I definitely work slower than most. It's just my nature.

I ran into one last year. They were living with and mooching off of mom. Even used her bank account to set it up. They lapsed a few months later lol.

I did write up direct bill a few months back. They had a DE and I put her with Trans and him with Bronze.

They got the MO no problem. Still paying. It was an Internet lead though.

I wrote a 54 yr old back yard mechanic for $83 a month Direct monthly last week. I door knocked him and no crap they just had buried his mother 2 hrs before. H showed me all the receipts paying his mothers United so I wrote him. He's on no govt programs and only deals with money orders and cash. We shall see.

I can one up you. Called a guy off a Jane in March and he actually answered the phone WHILE AT HIS WIFES FUNERAL----said to call him back that nite cause he wanted insurance. Drove 60 miles to see him next day and wrote him Foresters level-------he bounced the first draft, they double drafted him the next month with me reminding him 3 days before and that draft didn't fly either. Never doubted this guy when I wrote him--who can understand these people?

How can he answer his house phone from a funeral home?
