I'm sure someone knows who I am talking about. Who is that guy in New York that is a MetLife agent. He worked door to door inside buildings for years. The guy is like 70 or something now. He turned down a high six figure pension so he can keep selling.
But I guess he's not TOT material and I guess he is unprofessional.
This works well around here. And other states where the debit is king. If you are not in a heavily saturated debit state or town, mentioning Reliable or American National may not work. The debits have saturated the neighborhoods, here. I mainly say, "Who do you have your life insurance with?", and I ask them if it's Reliable a lot of the time. Some of them have Stonebridge, the mail order stuff. Sometimes they have Primerica. It depends. A lot do have the debit life, but they forget. Had it so long, they kind of put it out of their minds.Nope, no list. I canvass an entire Neighborhood.
Of course there are SIGNS that I look for:
Number of vehicles on the street
Poorish Neighborhood
Lots of dogs
I don't do neighborhoods where the house are 100k+
Script is simple: "Hi my name is XXX and I am the local insurance guy that services this area and your neighbors tell me that a lot of people have either Reliable or American National, and if you do I can save you about 40% on your current monthly payment............."
Very few are rude. Most are polite. Most are interested.
Some I can help, some I can't.

There are no such debits in my area here in Indiana.....I think an approach of
"Do you currently have an agent to help your family when you pass away, and 62% of people with life insurance don't know exactly what they have or how it is performing, I review policies for free and help beneficiaries when someone passes away."
but I have never tried it so have no personal experience with this. Thoughts?
Hi, cds
appreciate the insight and motivation.
I want to do neighborhood canvasing for business. Liked your
spiel. What kind of insurance do you sell door to door? Is it FE,
term, wlor ul and how do you quote and carry so much paperwith you?
I'm in south florida-I've never met or encountered anyone who does door to door. I agree it would be better than cold calling all day. Please direct me to comanies and products I should look at. I have a good book of health-what I really want to do is LIFE.
Looking forward to getting input!
Honestly, I think you are over complicating it......the spiel is too wordy/doesn't really entice me to want to open up to you....also, your question stimulates a "no" response.....you want a yes at the door to get them to talk more.
Just do a google for local life comapanies in your area.....and just use those......

I use WL and Term.....and a childs whole life too.
I have a binder which I use and just re-fill it when I get done in a house.....nothing fancy, just apps, rate sheets etc. If I'm stuck I call my IMO on mthe spot and he runs the rates for me.
that makes sense......Do you try to get in the door right then or appointment set for the next day?
I sell on their doorstep......
