Ran into this a few days ago. Submitted an app to Humana, applicant is denied due to liver enzymes 2x the normal limit (according to MIB). Seems MIB had hits on this guy in 2004, 2005 & 2008.
He has been a client since 2005 and has bought health insurance (for the 2nd time), life insurance and DI. Had a physical for the life insurance in 2006 and passed with flying colors. Also had a physical 2 weeks ago, no problem.
H1 says no, he has a problem with his liver.
Turns out there are two people with the same name. One born in NY the other in WA.
The one born in WA has the bum liver.
That would be my client.
We had to submit copies of the latest lab work (2 weeks ago) and appeal this to the underwriting manager before they would issue.
For some reason, H1 had an MIB on the NY guy as well as the WA guy and they used the WA.
Took longer than expected and had to fight with them. Now my client will have to take on MIB to get the bad liver off his records.
