DM with phone number as call to action

489
Anyone ever tried and big glossy DM post card with a phone number to get info or a DM letter with a phone number only.

Logic makes me think response would be higher.

They do this with Mortgage Protection leads. They can fill it out and send it in or call the 1800 number to expedite.

Although, I don't think it would work for FE since many people think it's free. They would call in to make sure it was free before they filled it out ;)

If it's purty and shiny, the FE prospect will probaby not throw it away, because it looks purty on the coffee table. :twitchy:

It would be phone number only, if they call the number is captured and too me that's a lead, the inbound would say something like thx for calling all operators busy leave a message etc. I don't really care, if they call they read the card and want more info.

Depends on what the card says.

Keep in mind AARP, Colonial Penn, et al, prove that this approach works.

I don't think the verbiage is the contributing factor to why CP and AARP are able to make this approach work. Sure it's a variable, but I think the fact that they are well established brands with national TV exposure for decades just might be why they pull it off.

Ok so what if an agent dropped those names on the large glossy post card? I wonder.

Higher? I'd bet response is much much lower. I did a few drops like that with annuities and results were almost zero. I'd bet the response is also extremely low for the brand names, but they have the budget, and those that call the number from a dm card have a very high chance of buying and require less work from a professional agent, which is what they're concerned with.
