Just looking for recent feedback on the tele leads offered by EFES

Those that have or currently are using them, how would you compare them to the direct mail lead?

Was there a noticeable difference with close rate? Average premium per close? Etc. Any feedback is appreciated
Thanks!

My manager uses them as filler towards the end of the week, helps fill in the gaps.

Personally, it's a tossup for me. I have done some sales on them, but I also get alot of resistance at the door...I do need a ride along to train on them, however.

The people are called from home office, asked a series of 'Discount' questions, and told that 'agent name' will be in contact with them. The calls are recorded so you can listen to it.

You don't get folks who specifically say Not Interested.

But you do get folks who say they do currently have coverage.

The leads are very time sensitive, and you don't have a lead card with their handwriting, so when they say 'I don't remember that' well you don't have any proof.

Contact them within 48 hrs for best results, and get trained on how to get in the door.

A direct mail piece is read, filled out, and mailed in...but the telelead is anyone who dosn't hangup on the caller...there was no initiative on behalf of the lead, as there was on the DM piece.

I hated using them. I thought they were the worst leads I've ever worked save for LH leads.

I got 33 of them total over 3 different offerings. All after they had "improved" them. The last ones were just as bad as the first ones.

I realize that is a small sample but that's all I was willing to take. I made 1 sale from the 33 leads.

The biggest problem I had was the crediting policy on them. The guy that decides if a lead gets credit is the same guy in chrage of selling and promoting them. That's an issue right there. Plus he couldn't sell insurance if his life depended on it so he doesn't know what a good lead is.

There were some good points about them. They ask about a bank account. They ask about current coverage and most of the telelead prospects did have insurance. That's a good thing. I would much rather deal with a person that has insurance than someone that doesn't.

The operators will talk over the suspect though. They did agree to be contacted on all the ones that I got but in most cases it was only to give up after being badgered by the operator.

I know of at least 4 other top agents that feel exactly as I do about the teleleads. But I also know of a few that say they are great.

I haven't bought any since Feb and would never buy another one even if I were staying with EFES.

So that's my opinion of them. I am holding back a bit because of the nicer, gentler forum.

My same experience with them. Got in one door out of 33, sold it. Pioneer Financial Group was agency on that batch and they are holding a few of my contracts hostage. When I called a carrier to see if they could track down a live voice, they tracked the upline to Andy Albright and NAA....

JD you talk about LH leads being horrible often. I just started getting leads back from my first mailers on my own and am finding them much easier to work with than my LH mailers were. I thought it could be a combo of things from being very fresh to the signature on this particular lead card. What in your opinion made LH leads bad and do you think it's like night and day because of the quality of the lead alone sometimes?

Here's what I tell our agents -

If you can run a direct mail lead, you can run a telelead. Joe believes they should be ran as though the client sent a card in the mail. The goal is to get in the door, with that said, paper lead, audio recording, internet lead, it's all simply an opportunity to see someone and share the value of FE.

It's a matter of overcoming objections. Its simple to learn how... if you WANT to.

I couldn't disagree with this more. Nor should you be telling agents that crap.

I don't really know whay they are different. I've worked leads from just about everywhere and had success everywhere including with the LH leads. Just not as much success with the LH mail leads. I hated the LH TV even more than the mail leads.

Back then I could sell more MA plans to LH responders than I could life insurance. That was prfe MIPPA and we had a really good plan for duals.

The best leads I've ever worked were NAA leads.

For me there's a tie for the worst leads between LH, Parker and Asses and the EFES teleleads.

The worst thing about LH leads is your manager gets them before you do.

You get his crumbs.
