You're right. I wrote a fair amount of Oxford business a few years ago and it was 100% persistant for a couple of years. I've had one or two fall off now but I don't think even those were replaced.

It is relevant to the Agent who is being replaced in this situation. I would never place myself in that situation w/o covering that aspect with the client during the presentation. It is best to cover it, let the client decide, and if and when the other Agent brings it up the client will shoot it down (after being informed).

If you aren't replacing business then the rating is of less consequence... (except to you E&O company).
 
Some states, (NJ included), have a state guarantee on life insurance. In this case, I don't think it makes a hill of beans what the rating is, except as a good talking point.

Ditto, Rating of less than A- really only matters on Major Medical at least in my experience.
