Routing numbers are public information.

By Googling the name of a bank, what city the account was opened in, and ending with "routing number", many times you'll be able to find and recite the routing number to the client without them giving it to you.

For example you could Google: "Wright Patt Credit Union in Dayton, OH routing number"

This will not only impress the prospect, but make them feel at ease, and lower their anxiety.

"Now Ms Mary, what are the next set of digits on the bottom of that check?"
