Finally....A Foresters Scenario!

I always use the speaker. The only time I don't is the AmCon med sup interview and that's because they won't allow it to be on speaker. They have never said anything about the FE being on speaker.

I generally use my phone because most of my clients either don't have a speaker on their phone or they don't know how to use it.:twitchy:

So wait, yall saying use speakerphone....but do they (carrier) care if you are on the line with them? Do u ever speak while you're on the phone with a client (like maybe to help or to clarify)? Or are u doing this silently?

They usually know. They won't allow you to say anything. if they hear you say something to help the person understand or wahtever they will warn you once and then end the call if you say something again.

You must coach your clients- before slamming the digits on the phone- coach them- Tell them they are gonna hear a brief message- I learned how most of the companies in my bag PHI- so I usaully have no issues or hesitations from them when a question is asked-

You will get stuff issued quicker-

Nothing sucks worse than to have your client not understand a question and answer yes to it... really kinda throws a monkey wrench into the wheels of progress

I'm obviously new at this but I tell the client how the UW works. I say as long as you can truthfully answer the questions no, then you shouldn't have any problems. But I will def start using speakerphone. Good tip.

Today was the 1st day since all the changes last yr that Ive had a reason to use Foresters. I had a 68/F/NS on insulin before 50 (so no RNA) & had started to develop some problems with her eyes (possibly from the diabetes), which knocked out Americo & insulin puts on standard with Monu. My only other choice was UHL & Foresters...and since UHL hasnt sent me my new apps with them, they were out too.

The app is shorter, so I like that....the questions are a lil confusing, but not terrible to get thru. But the PHI was long, cant really say how bad it was, cause Im not sure what exactly they ask the client. But I know she was on there 6min or so BEFORE she even started getting asked the Yes or No questions...so it was almost 10min total. I was on the phone 5-6 min to start & just a min or 2 afterwards.

RNA's is much shorted....Does anyone think Foresters PHI is better?? I thought that was the point, to simpify the app & PHI!

Have you tried Columbian or Old American they are really good companies and as for diabetics they are great

Yeah, if they don't mind overpaying for their insurance. CL is not terribly overpriced but very beatable. OA is LH high. I wish I could find more OA policies.

its also very easy to shake your head yes or no without making a sound!

That as well as having a blank sheet of paper at the ready to write down something to stick in front of their face if I think the gabby prospect is about to go off script that says " remember only answer yes or no" or " please repeat the question "
I also hand the prospect a blank copy of the medical question for them to look at during the PHI so I can point out a nuisance to certain questions such as " in the past 2 years have you " in case where I think the prospect is thinking there asking " have you ever ever " I always put it on speaker phone. There nothing like losing as sale from a client who has a bad case of TMI

I had one lady that answered almost every question with "Well, I probably need to" or "I don't know I haven't been checked for that. I probably should. I'm 82 years old."

This was before I had 5-Star. It's a blessing now.

Yeah I have been coaching them beforehand about giving TMI. I used to sell AT&T b2b. When they did the phone interview at the end, if they said anything other than yes or no, the interviewer would ask to speak to me, hang up and we would have to call back in to do another phone interview. If they couldnt get through it in 3 times, you would lose the sale.

Coaching beforehand is always a great idea!

Does 5 star not do a PHI?
