Finally....A Foresters Scenario!

Yeah I have been coaching them beforehand about giving TMI. I used to sell AT&T b2b. When they did the phone interview at the end, if they said anything other than yes or no, the interviewer would ask to speak to me, hang up and we would have to call back in to do another phone interview. If they couldnt get through it in 3 times, you would lose the sale.

Coaching beforehand is always a great idea!

Does 5 star not do a PHI?

It's completely optional with 5-Star.

I had one lady that answered almost every question with "Well, I probably need to" or "I don't know I haven't been checked for that. I probably should. I'm 82 years old."

This was before I had 5-Star. It's a blessing now.

How about when the daughter says."OK dad, we have gone over all theses questions and all the answers are no. Remember answer no." First question = what is your date of birth? Dad's answer = no

Or you have made it clear that the answers are "no" and then they ask if the agent went over the disclosure and gave you a copy and the answer is "no".:D

Another reason to hate the phone interviews.

I had one that wanted to discuss everything with the interviewer. "Have you have a heart attack, surgery, etc..?" No, but my brother and father both did. At about the same age for both of them.

Then when asked the alcohol and drug question, "no, but that's happened with my brother and father withe the heart troubles. That's why I never picked up the bottle.

The interviewer was more patient than most would have been. She just listened and then steered him back to the question. That one took forever to complete.

Then you have the wannabe comedians that tell jokes to the interviewer. I've had several of those.

Or.... You are doing a PHI using a third party interpreter line. PHI person ask the question to the interpreter, she ask the 80 year old man, the man answers in several long sentences. The interpreter repeats back to the PHI person, in what seems like a more longer sentences. I look at the son and ask what exactly did he say? He says he said "No". OK, that was question #1, on the first Monk.

The best is when after the recording is played and they are asked to state I agree, their name and todays date and they answer with:

"I dun born in 1936, and my adresss is...."

*slaps palm to forehead*

The only time I don't use Speaker phone is when there is a bunch of background noise. I had to meet a lady at Mickey D's last week and lets just say, with the 50's rock music theme, and kids running around and yelling....not a good choice for speaker phone to do a PHI.

What I love about RNA, they handled it with ease, just spoke more loud and clear, got her qualified in 5minutes or so.

That reminds me, do I need to ask and document any over the counter meds/vitamins or supplements they are taking on the apps?
