Paying someone else to put you there is handing them your wallet and hoping they don't rob you if you don't know a lot about it up front.

Or getting listed back in 2006 in google local before you had a website with the same physical address..then once you got the site update your listing info to hold a top #1 page rank..but if you change address you SOL..
