No such thing as an exclusive lead. Even visitors to my website that tell me I'm the only person they contacted...is not exclusive. Nothing is keeping them from contacting four other people.

We have two telemarketers in our office who call and provide exclusive leads directly to me. Monthly average is under $7.00 for each "lead." Of course, half are not people we can help, but we have more "leads" then we can almost handle.
We are not after the clients looking for coverage online, we are after those that currently have coverage, but we can help them find better coverage for less....

Still not exclusive. But it sounds like it works well for you, so keep it up!
How is it not exclusive?
We call "aged" or B leads. These are the folks who requested a health quote over 4-12 months ago. They are not being called by agents.
These leads either:
1. bought a policy (great prospect) I can usually beat the price with another carrier
2. Were frustrated with all the calls and need/want insurance/did not buy (good prospect).
3. Are uninsurable.
None of our leads are being called by agents.

They are not exclusive. "Exclusive" means your prospect is guaranteed to refrain from contacting anybody else prior or immediately after your presentation.
It also means they will not be contacted by anybody else which you do not have 100% control or knowledge.
No such animal. Never will be.

Fair enough...then there really is no such thing as exclusive leads.
I call clients that are not talking to agents. I talk to clients that need/have/want better insurance, and want to save money after our telemarketers generate interest.
I guess I call on.....clients that other agents are not calling.
It works for me!

I use broker office and it's pretty good but, the only con is that you can't review or modify started applications. Wish they would add that.

What semantics! Can't we all accept that when discussing "exclusive" leads it means we are talking about a lead not "Shared" to 10+ agents?
Semantics in play "Exclusive Lead" would also refer to a generated lead that was not given out to others, if it were the case that they were guaranteed not to call anyone else than we would refer to that as a "Guaranteed Sale" and if we could buy those we would all pay someone $15/hour to sell for us wouldn't we?
So yes, I generate a number of "Exclusive Leads" they come in from my marketing, If I am a Jackass and do not impress them or not call them back/ignore the lead they will probably stray and continue shopping.
