Just wanted to say "thanks Frank." In speaking with him just a couple times, I'm trying to do the best I can. And this morning, while they may not have been cold 'cold' calls, they were people I had'nt seen or talked to for several months. Out of 17 calls, I got 4 appointments, all for this coming monday for med supps. And a lady who is very interested in making safe, some of her $$$ at risk. Thanks again, and will be tallking more with you Frank.

Thanks, I'll look forward to it. Ya gotta love it when "a plan comes together". :)

Are you serious? You don't think Obama inherited any troubles, when he came into office?

Yes, and somebody will inherit his. Health reform is just another hot button issue that the President uses to trick Americans into being on his side. His luster will eventualy tarnish. It used to be abortion(George Bush), gay rights(Bill Clinton), God only knows what the next issue is. Healthcare reform will continue on forever, without resolution, like killing babies.

I just got off the phone with Frank and it was a real pleasure. He was able to teach me more in the last half an hour about Medicare supplement policies than I could hope to learn from any other source.

If anyone wants to get in this market, I recommend speaking with Frank.

Myinsurebiz, I earn between 12% and 23% commission. That is for the first six years. In Missouri the average Med Supp probably sells for around $1,500 per year. This will vary from state to state. It may now sound like much but it adds up pretty quick. I still have clients who have Med Supps who purchased their policy the first year I started in 1993. I teach agents how to keep their clients.

So you make between $15 and $29 a month per Supp sold? Seems like a lot of sales are needed to make good money. I am assuming that there are advances on the first year of like 9 months? So if you selll 40 supps a month that becomes $1160 a month and if you get advances of 9 months then you get $10440. Isn't most of the business done Nove-Dec? Is there still a good bit of business to be written Jan-April?

I believe we are on the brink of a huge explosion in Medicare Supplement sales.

I will train agents to generate leads, prospect for and sell Medicare Supplement policies who are using Your Insurance Office.
I have been following Frank's posts and he definitely has the knowledge. Thumbs up for Frank.

That is a pretty close approximation. Forty a month is high from what most agents do. My personal goal has always been 20 per month. However, there was one month when I did 71. I'll never do or try to do it again. It wore me slick.

Most companies will give a twelve month advance. When sold properly charge backs very seldom occur.

Remember, first year commission is typically paid for the first six years. The renewals add up very quickly.

My business is written every week, 52 weeks a year. There is no time when "most of the business" is written. You may have MA plans in mind. They are a totally different animal.

Frank, does your offer for free training with YIO still stand?
I am a new, independent agent in Massachusetts. I'm contracted (so far) with United Healthcare. Also licensed for life. Is there any point in pursuing other carriers for Med Sups? I am targeting this market. (Please forgive my ignorance. I am very new at this.)
