General Fortesters/Americo Comparisons

I always prefer the phone interview just so I am 100% sure of approval when I am there. It can be frustrating at times so I try and prep the client as much as possible prior letting them know what they will be asking and making sure they have all their info in front of them so they aren't fumbling around trying to find things. Seems to make it much better though every once in a while you have the client that defies evolution.

I do the phone interview more times than not but it is great to not have to do one. I have gone back to using RNA as my primary company not that the POS is not mandatory. Same with 5 Star. Most of the time I do the 5 Star POS. There are times where it's just not feasable to do a phone interview.

sometimes I get the feeling I am getting picked on when it comes to stips on the application. I sent one to Americo a couple of days ago and got a call from them telling me i forgot to mark the box for smoking. I told them they are in fact smokers and the monthly premium supported that fact.

I was told I need an amendment signed by them before I can get paid. The page where I missed marking the box doesn't even require a signature, so why would I not be able to just mark the box and refax it?

I also got stipped when I cut the policy amount from $25,000 to $22,500. They won't pay me on it until they get the amendment signed by the insured. They also held another commission until they received the amendment back, which up to this point they have not.

They already took the first payment out so they have gotten paid, yet they are holding up two commissions?

I have always thought Foresters was stip happy but I guess they are not alone.

alot of companies do this, and it can be a pain in the ass if your clients are bad about mailing back stuff, or are too far for you to drive and see them...It's all apart of the game

The client had already paid a first month premium of $76 per month. She then decided she needed to be under $70 so I got her $69.75. So Americo wouldnt pay until I got the amendment signed lowering her coverage.

That's the way I have seen it from all my companies. At least on the annuity side most will let me decade the affected page of the application with the client initials.

The reason they want the clients initials is because you submitted it and they asked for a change they want to protect themselves....I agree it seems strange in some case like the time I totally missed a box on the agent report that had my social on it.....
