I just received this email a few minutes ago-

"RNA has agreed that an indication of the prescription drug Furosemide on a Simplified Issue Whole Life application will not cause a reject. Please note that this change will not be effective until August 11th."

That info combined with Foresters rate hike, means Foresters will no longer be my 2nd carrier I go to after RNA anymore. Looks like it'll be RNA, then Americo/Monu, then Foresters, UHL. Now if we can get RNA to accept Carvedilol, it would be AWESOME...C'mon RNA are u listening??

Sidenote- JD did mention this maybe coming a month ago or so, thanks!

Oh and Lasix was excluded from the automatic decline list too!

Generally, 80mg of Furosemide indicates CHF, 20mg is for swelling of the extremities, and 40mg could be either/or. At least that is how it has been explained to me.

Carvedilol, Furosemide, and Lasix can be used by someone who is written as Preferred by Sr Life, as long as these meds are used for high blood pressure and not for the heart.

Kinda illustrates the more liberal underwriting and justifies the higher premium. For ex., if Carvedilol is a knock out med for RNA this same proposed insured may get immediate coverage with Sr. Life.....meaning they would be declined by RNA but could pay a higher premium and enjoy immediate coverage with SL.

I see it differently. It illustrates the reason I have multiple companies to choose from. Seems a little unjust if you put both the Carvedilol client and a healthy spouse into the same over priced plan. Just as easy to put one in company A and the other in the lower cost company B.

I'm sure they'll enjoy the higher premium as well. :D

For the immediate coverage I believe some would enjoy the immediate coverage at a higher premium. We pretty much get what we pay for in life, wouldn't you agree?

Who said anything about a healthy spouse? We're talking about someone taking Carvedilol, furosemide, or lasix. Of course, if you represent multiple Co.'s, you could put each with a separate Co.

Sounds like since you like to write for several Co.'s, with each Co. having its own niche, that SL would be a good addition for your ammo for these types of situations, not even mentioning insulin dependent diabetics getting their super-preferred rates.

If that was the only choice you would be right but there are better option for those people and also with A rated companies.

It's been a little bit since I was a pharmacy technician, but aren't Lasix and Furosemide the same thing?

Like how Plaxiv and Clopidrogel are the same thing?

Senior life is such a one stop shop that you need no other carriers. Everyone should cancel all other appointments and join the senior life movement. Insuranceman, I love how your company is always the best solution.......for me to poop on
