Health Benefits Direct...BEWARE!

HBD owns Insurint, the new quoting system. Very sophisticated program. Yes, AHCP has an agreement with and is starting to use Insurint. But, HDB is bad news.

Color me simple, but the obvious question is this: why not just hang on while they get their credit card?

If it were ME personally making the call, I would hang on. And most sales people would. But there are some situations where you have the sale, and it just takes one final detail. If you're an agent, you know that. Doesnt happen much but it happens. We even tell the customer "you may be getting more calls from agents, just ignore them and tell them you have already bought," etc.

Your comment here about the stupidity of letting somebody off the hook kinda misses the point tho, doesn't it? Just because it may be stupid to wear a wallet in my back pocket with a few hundy in it, that does not mean that it excuses the pickpocket for choosing a life of crime, or that we shouldn't be upset about it or want it to change.

Ethics are all we got. We should all care about that, and ridding our industry from these leeches that make our lives more difficult, and our prospects more fearful- even when WE are listening to them, and WE are offering them coverage they really need.

Just my take.

Question: when you sign on with Insurint, do you also then sign on with AHCP as a GA? Or is Insurint truly independent, and AHCP just one of their customers. I think it's the former, but could be wrong.

My understanding is that Insurint is separate form HBD. And you must be a member of AHCP (or sell one of their products to become a member -no dues/fees etc.) to use Insurint. Currently AHCP has an exclusive with Insurint. Best to contact Insurint directly on their website to find out more and to see a demo. Or contact AHCP. They have some good products, excellent training, and minimum requirements through their division managers etc. You are not captive. And can continue as you are now doing with no change in companies, contracting or licensing etc.

Insurint is owned by Health Benefits Direct. They use it in their call center here in Florida.

Yes, but their call center only uses part of the quoting system. I still do not endorse HBD, and was concerned about the relationship. After looking at the Insurint demo, it is very interesting and usable by some agents. Altho I haven't used Quotit or Novax I think Insurint is the better system. I have signed on but haven't started using it yet. There is a free trial period through AHCP.

Yes, HBD and AHCP are very intertwined.

I have been with AHCP for 4 years and have no knowledge of or heard of any ties to HBD. HBD is antitheticle to eveything AHCP is doing. Everyone I have been in contact with at AHCP is above board, and they have the best and free training on all their products. Training by products is from the companies. I would like to know what you base your info on.

I never said anyone was anti-ethical, or expressed any opinion. I said they are "intertwined" because they are:

- HBD is selling Insurint throught AHCP
- AHCP provides leads generated through HBD
- One of AHCPs "Division Presidents" was also an HBD top exec

You were the one who said they were "concerned" - why the paranoia?

anti-theticle = opposite or reverse. Has nothing to do with ethics.

I am not familiar with all the division presidents and could care less of their prior businesses.

The people I know are top notch and stress doing business ethically.

I only know what I experienced in 4 years. If you heard something different I suggest you refer to a different thread where John P. has good words for AHCP. Or try it before you knock it.

I am not very good at pxxsing matches so I will repeat: I know what I expereinced, not what I heard. I trust the people I know and compamies such as GR, Colorado Bankers, Aetna. I get paid directly from the companies. I am licensed with other companies not through AHCP. I have never heard any information that there is any kind of relationship with HBD, but AHCP does endorse Insurint. I am unaware of any lawsuit unless it affects me as I can quit Insurint and AHCP anytime and still keep my renewals.

I try to always learn from this forum and hope this may be of interest to others. And for now I am on a different thread.
