Hiring Someone to Create a Website Any Opinions?

Gimp is great if you want to play around with creating backgrounds, headers, etc...

I go to Themes | dafont.com to research cool fonts, then download and import to Gimp. I just did a site for a local dentist and he wanted something "cool" for the header: —

I like the look of his...ummmm.... office..... :1cute:

And the rest of the site is nice too. Good looking site John.

Paint.net is way simpler than GIMP for this. You save the jpg as png first. Then you use the "magic wand" tool to select the background as well as the spaces inside closed letters and spaces and simply delete.

Now you have a signature with no background... just the signature. You can even change the sig color.

Just torrent a version of Photoshop. its a bit more complicated but so much more useful.

...or if you don't even remotely want to screw with it, pass it off to fiverr.

Why pay $5 it takes like 30 seconds to make a basic image transparent?

Jack origiof slly paid an SEO guy to do his magic and it ended up yielding a pretty healthy ROI. Seems pretty useful to me.

The professional I hired recently doesn't believe he's even delivered any service to me yet in terms of what he outlined to do, but just working on my site structure and conversions it's been well worth it already. I also didn't hire the guy with the goal of cutting him out, so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

It definitely can be worth the money its just ygmm compared seos to doctors and lawyers....

Conversion rate optimization aside, i found most SEO's to be sheep when it comes to link building. They all use the same strategies - guest posting, broken link building, and various forms of content marketing.

I developed my own campaign from scratch and haven't come across any SEO or firm that can produce the same results for less so I'm biased.

I found SEO to be a great investment up until a few months ago. I still spend money on it but I still think everyone that has the ability to should develop an in house campaign for the highest roi and most quality control.

A) Because it's not 30 seconds for the layman - more like a hour of frustration - and unless they value their time at $5/hr, hit fiverr.

B) Why would you recommend someone steal Photoshop instead of paying for it?
