How Do You Guys Just Knock on Doors???

I would think that the vast majority of salesmen hate cold calling. It is a pain in the ass expecialy in Michigan. If I was broke and had to make some money I would cold call just enough to get some money so I could buy some telemarketed leads.

You would probably not be very successful at it because of your attitude toward it. The people that are really good at it, have a love for it and find it both exciting and challenging.. There really are people like that.. I know, they are kind of weird..:1wink:

Somewhere there is a used car salesman forum where one guy is insulting another by calling him an insurance agent.

Gemini,
Seriously? You sound like a little kid trying to win an argument. We all know what Rick meant. You are just being annoying about it.

Gemini got his feelings hurt because Rick was an ass and leveled an uncalled for personal attack against him. They're both wrong on that. On the other hand, it IS pretty clear what Rick was talking about all along. It's dishonest to say that she got sent a card like that when you don't know if she has or not.

Are we done?

That was awesome!

Probably happening on a mortgage broker forum too. If there are any left in the business.

You are ALL SALESMEN or SALESWOMEN- and that both might apply to the same for some on this board

Sunshine and lollipops....

Unicorns and glitter...

Too many sanctimonious people here

"Punch him in the ovaries type"

Stop trying to save the world Bono, stop bringing your own "green bag" to the grocery store...

Grow a set of huevos and go make a dollar and quit trying to lead us all to that burning bush atop the mountain

See you ladies at the pancake social tomorrow....

Well I'm done. Thanks for clarifying that I was an ass. But I don't quite understand the past tense.

Embelishing a bit to get in the door is fine...someone pointed out all kinds of marketing examples that only tell half of the story just to get you in the door...

Nobody (hopefully not) puts a gun to anyones head to purchase insurance. Hopefully nobody gives misleading information about whats covered and whats not covered with the insurance that they're selling. So long as EVERYTHING is above board with the presentation and all of those details...may the best man get the sale.

That said..I wish that some of you lived in Pa so I coould tag along with you for a few days just for door knocking training....all of you guys gave some really sound advice!

John

That said, I would love to see some of these door knockers out here in an Arizona summer. I'll watch from my car...

So before the interent and "lead companies" nobody ever went door to door in Arizona? Interesting...
