How Do You Guys Just Knock on Doors???

So before the interent and "lead companies" nobody ever went door to door in Arizona? Interesting...

I'm sure they have, but I have absolutely no interest in walking around a neighborhood wearing slacks and a button down in 110 degree heat. I've owned a pool service + repair company out here. Trust me on this, if you are outdoor for more than 10 minutes, you are dripping sweat. It just doesn't sound like fun while wearing professional attire. Plus with all that sweating, you'll look pretty rough by around 11am.

Honestly, I don't get that much "door to door" activity at all out here for any products now that I think about it. Every area is different...

What I really wonder is that if you are an atheist how can you say for sure that something is "ethical" or not? You say that stealing is unethical. Oh, really? That's a "subjective" and "arbitrary" standard. I, as an atheist, say that it's not. Who are YOU to object?

I submit that in order to have a known standard that applies to EVERYONE there HAS to be a "god" otherwise it's ALL relative. Survival of the fittest- me against you. How many people are there in the world today? 4.5 Billiion? Then if all are "atheists" then there are 4.5 billion standards of what's right and wrong.

Hey Tebow, lets leave religion out of the insurance forums...

Ben: He wasn't the one to bring it up.. He is simply responding a previous "religious" post. Didn't hear you calling them Madelyn. Louis

You're right... either way it was a joke. I need to start putting these faces in . My dry sense of humor doesn't come off well online.

Dry sense of something...
Anyway..there is no such thing as freedom FROM religion.
God Bless! :)

Interesting article on ethics........

What is Ethics?

Couple of paragraphs from the article:

"What, then, is ethics? Ethics is two things. First, ethics refers to well-founded standards of right and wrong that prescribe what humans ought to do, usually in terms of rights, obligations, benefits to society, fairness, or specific virtues. Ethics, for example, refers to those standards that impose the reasonable obligations to refrain from rape, stealing, murder, assault, slander, and fraud. Ethical standards also include those that enjoin virtues of honesty, compassion, and loyalty. And, ethical standards include standards relating to rights, such as the right to life, the right to freedom from injury, and the right to privacy. Such standards are adequate standards of ethics because they are supported by consistent and well-founded reasons.

Secondly, ethics refers to the study and development of one's ethical standards. As mentioned above, feelings, laws, and social norms can deviate from what is ethical. So it is necessary to constantly examine one's standards to ensure that they are reasonable and well-founded. Ethics also means, then, the continuous effort of studying our own moral beliefs and our moral conduct, and striving to ensure that we, and the institutions we help to shape, live up to standards that are reasonable and solidly-based."

In OHIO ethics is required in our CE. Guess not in other states. That explains a lot. haha

Just because you take a course on ethics and pass does not mean you learned anything and applied it.
