How Do You/How Are You Able

You are new and trying to sell over the phone....HMM

Good Luck.

Most season agents can't sell over the phone.

I'm talking about Life Insurance, by the way.

What is wrong with selling face to face these days??

Well I'm selling health primarily with the life cross sell, but it's pretty easy to get the life sale if you just ask for it. Not just selling term either.

Nothing wrong with face to face but a webinar with some good powerpoints keeps me at home with my family for a lot more hours every week!

hehe, I am attempting to keep them away from my family. I have a policy as well as my m/fil. All others, are acquaintances from work and other various places. That said... are you able to help me with my question?

And if it makes a difference, I have signed the IBA, but am not yet licensed nor appointed by Primerica yet.

FDAHL, If you would want your family to run away are you going to feel good about what your selling to others??? I have a theory that If I wouldn't sell it to my family I won't sell it at all, just an integrity thing for me.

If you wanna see some of the options out there that opened my eyes 4 days after meeting w/ a Primerica agent and almost never considering insurance at all send me an email.

If you're not appointed with them yet and you read the above and ignore it, good luck! BTW, the way they sell over the phone is with companies that allow phone apps. Or you can send them the paperwork to have them sign.

I will try to answer your question with out taking the easy shots at Primerica. But it is SO easy. I am pretty familiar with PFS

Can ~you~ write them. No. You are property of Primerica, they will not let you. You do not work for your clients, you work for Primerica.

Do your managers do it? Probably. How? They could mail the app and say that cousin It was visiting and signed it locally. Or they could get a non-resident license and say that they were visiting cousin It and wrote it there. Fast way to lose a license or worst. Remember how a 2 year contestability claim works. Or if Uncle Fester figures out that you sold him an over priced, non guaranteed 30 year term policy and he want the last two years premium back.

You could get a non res license and sic a local primerica agent on them. And do a split. But only the relatives you do not like or will not need to try to recuit yourself to reach the next pay grade.

>>They want to know as soon as I am licensed, so that I can help them.

Go to term4sale.com and quote them. Compare coverage, premium and conversion options. Then come back to this forum. Or better yet join the ILIAA. It will cost less that all those Thursday and Saturday meeting you will have to go to. Just do not let your manager know you are getting an education, he will have an aneurism.

Oh, there are almost as many recruiters here as a Primerica Opportunity Meeting

couple questions. What state are you in? What is IBA.

I am new to insurance. I am with what seems to be the anti-christ of insurance companies around here, Primerica. I figured it was a good starting point for me, even if I choose later to change companies.

Anyways, my question is: How do you take apps over the phone and such. With Primerica, we can only do it in person. I have family in like 5 other states, that I obviously can't fly to anytime soon to write policies for them. They want to know as soon as I am licensed, so that I can help them. But, I can't unless I go there. :swoon:

So for those of you that do this over the phone/internet, how is it done?

Avoid them, NAA, or EMG like the bubonic plague. You'll spend twice as much time trying to get away from them and relearn what you should have learned in the first place, after you realize in 3 months and a couple grand in bad leads you were a moron for falling for it.

Anyone who has a pitch that you can work, for us on a 55-70% contract, be independent, and sell sell sell to "earn" a normal street commission should not be trusted.

If you want, I can assign you as my downline with any company that will allow it, and give you the bad internet leads that I can't sell, you can be at like a 85% commission TO START and get the same lead quality you can get with any of those companies!

No I asked how it was done. I have family in other states, that I want this to be an option for... keyword family.... not my regular way of selling. I have no problem selling face to face, I think it will turn better results as well as being able to better help the family.

I am in PA. Family is on the west coast, WA, NM, CA, CO, AZ.

An IBA is the Independent Business App, through Primerica. It's what you sign and they charge you $99 for.

However, they do give you back the $99 plus $100 under certain criteria in the first 30 days (which I did not meet) and they reimburse you for your State exam, AFTER you have passed and are licensed.

I have already completed my 24 hours of pre-licensing, and just need to go and take the state exam.

NAA was the original company I was looking at. When I was, they primarily did mortgage insurance. They have now broadened there types, to include UL, term and annuities. With NAA you contract with each individual carrier. They, as far as I know, don't have electronic apps in place yet (i.e. a phone/pda program) so I guess to get them the best rate, you have to, by hand, quote each individual carrier.... seems like it would make an appt lengthy. I know you have to carry your laptop with you, so maybe there is software that does it for you. I can't get any of these questions answered, because the person I signed up under originally is now MIA... and her upline, put me off and NEVER called me when he said he was going to, 3 different times.

Another company I was considering was Cotoinsurance (www dot cotoinsurance dot com) Still waiting to hear from them as well, I am thinking I will have to call to get the info I want.

Finish getting licensed, get whatever you can from them, then bail. I do not know what the start you at now used to be starvation rates like 25%.

Do yourself and clients a favor join the ILIAA, plug into the weekly webinars. In a couple weeks you will know more than half the PFS agents in your office. It is like $5.00 first month. You join have Nick email me and I will send you the 5.00 back.

No, I am not trying to recuit you. This industry needs more agents, but we need educated agents. Not insurance salesmen but Insurance Agents.

Damn, I got to stop drinking so early. :goofy:

Good Luck

Yes they start at 25%, 35% after you recruit 3 ppl, and then up from there to 95%.

I took your advice and am looking into joining ILIAA, have not signed up yet though.

I don't have a copy of my contract, I am hoping someone here (a former Prime'can or anyone else that knows) Once I am licensed and appointed by them, what does it take to release from them and have my appointment changed? I DO know that they have a thing in the contract saying that any clients I write while with them, when I leave, I cannot contact them for 2 years. Ok, so I refer them to someone else. :twitchy: Does anyone else have any details on separating from them?
Also, how do I change my appointment through the DoI?

Sounds like you are coming into the light.

On your contract it would not suprise me if you do not get a copy. They will also have you keep the original License in their office. Keep your own files. Even if they are copies.
Once you are licensed you can get appointed with any company you wish. You are licensed with your State not PFS. You do not need a release, since if you leave you will not be writing them.

On contracting, I would recommend that you contact Nick at the ILIAA.

I have appointed several recovered PFS agents. We had a ball replacing all of their old clients. They even became <gasp!> Low Lifes That Sell Whole Life. You know, FE is whole life, right?

I see PFS agents as prey.

BTW, if you upline finds out you are on this forum or seeking education out side of the pod. You will become persona non crata. They will not want you infecting the rest of the pod.

Let me know if I can be of any other help.
