How is CA Fair Plan less than ideal?

My understanding is that if you must use this CA Fair Plan thing in order to get an insurer to insure you, then it's not higher priced but somehow less than ideal? What are some of the ways that this CA Fair Plan is inferior?

Harold, you are asking us all these hypothetical questions about your homeowners insurance. Why don't you ask your actual agent actual question about your homeowners insurance? That's what he's paid commission for. If you don't trust your agent to answer these questions, then you need to take a break from this forum and focus on getting a new agent asap.
