"HOW TO"---an FE "Seminar?"

In my city, there are hundreds of these kind of places and I've been in probably 30-40 myself. I have an existing client in a low income complex who said she belongs to some kind of board or group that organizes events and other things. Oddly enough, I was meeting with her last night and she invited me to speak at one of their events. Kind of took me by surprise. I accepted, but I've never done it before and not sure what/how to present. This thread is very timely and useful.

She also volunteered that Lincoln Heritage will be presenting the week before me. LOL. That's one of the reasons why I accepted. I've been to several places that have told me LH recently had a presentation also. Love when that happens.

I have only done a few of these. They all have been to small church congregations. The pastors tend to be very pro burial insurance as they get request for financial help. Just a thought.

I have thought about that a lot over the years, but have I taken any kind of action yet?......LOL...nope. How lazy am I?

WOW man this turned up a LOT of things I had not thought about

And apparently the idea spurred a lot of thoughts in other agents!

I emailed my guy at SNL and asked for some of the "Signpost" brochures--it has good info on SS and VA death benefits, a place to start collecting family names etc and a place to give them premiums. If anyone knows a better piece tell me

So my plan is:

I have about three Coordinators at Seniors residences I think will work with me

Set up meetings

Get $20 Dollar General gift card to be raffled at the END of the meeting

Use blackboard or flip chart for bullet points

Use Collateral piece

Tell them at the end of the meeting to hang around and I will take time to meet with each of them personally

And then I will report back

Anyone else want to check my raincoat and galoshes before I head off to first grade?

PS--I was not on here for about a year--not sure what happened in the interim but the content and camaraderie here is 50% better than it was!

Just curious how agents on here handle replacement on policys the client hasn't received yet so has no policy #? The last week I've had a few and just put there SS# for the policy # and haven't heard anything yet. How do the agents on here handle it?

I have a whole Senior Center "DUMMY PROOF" kit I give to my agents who want to attempt these.

The last 2 Senior Centers I did were in Dallas and we walked out with 5K written biz from each one.

However, they can be dangerous for some agents who are on a consistent lead order. I have had a couple of agents who hit home-runs early on with these using my kit and decide they do not need to be on a lead order anymore. Instead they decided to try and save lead cost and only concentrate on these despite my advice TO THE CONTRARY. It can be a fatal mistake. A mistake that you might not be able to recover from.

The only time I advise agents on doing senior centers these days is if they are trying to earn enough money to get on a lead order.

ULTIMATE goal in my opinion is to be on a consistent lead order. NOTHING else is better!

Do you think if you had time to spare in a week it is a good investment of time/ money?
