Hype About Health Sherpa

For starters, you can login to your ffm broker account thru Sherpa, its very easy, and very useful for verifying app status, etc.

not only that you can upload income verification on your clients with the same back door link without your client even having to go to hc.gov ......

Sherpa has increased my production big time.

And most of the OPs reasoning is off. For starters, you can login to your ffm broker account thru Sherpa, its very easy, and very useful for verifying app status, etc.

Sherpa, and other wbe's may not be the best choice for your complex cases (family with children kicked to medicaid, etc), but the time value they provide for 90% of my cases is invaluable.

HealthSherpa has been an invaluable tool for me, too!

SO much faster than going to HC.gov!!!!
SO much easier!
All of the carriers ARE quoting at HealthSherpa (unlike Norvax, Quotit, etc).
I can run a HealthSherpa quote before I can blink my eyes!
Try that with ANY of the other Quote Engines!!!!!!!!

Backdoor tool is fabulous!

Application process FAR exceeds anything out there!
The Direct Enrollment function at UHC, etc takes MUCH MUCH MUCH longer than at HealthSherpa!
Overall time saved for me will be hundreds of hours.
Frustration eliminated for me is priceless!!!!!!!

-Last but not least, it's expensive (about an average month's commission)

If your average commission is $25 per month, you have screwed up. My avg premium this OEP so far is $775/mo (After 2014 OEP is was around $650), that's an average of $45-75/mo in commissions per case.

Unless your carrier is pmpm... which most are going to... AMbetter insulting $12pmpm.

Good gawd that's terrible

My carriers here in VA are $18PMPM. For a family of 5, it's a pretty good deal (over $1000 for 12 months on the books) but when you get that 1 needy person who is a single individual, it can be very time consuming for little reward.

Even worse is going to be this upcoming year, when a lot of the business already on the books are going to renewal rates (either $12 or $9 pmpm, depending on carrier).

Considering everyone in VA was force fed ACA and old policies termed... what a mess. Old rate $300. New rate $1200.. everyone doubled or tripled.
