I Need Help!

Hello,

I need all of your help. I worked my rear end off recently at BLC and I quit today. My FTR is a pain in my rear. I dialed 423 times last week and that wasnt even enough. I was emotionally burned out after that. Then I had issues with some things they wanted from me that I refused to give them. They wantd to work my PROJECT list I refused. If I was going to sell my family it was going to by on my terms not their. They did not accept this answer and wanted to go "sell" them for me since I wasnt convicted enough or that I didnt love them enough to sell them myself. When I was asked to hand over my Project list I refused and quit 10 minutes later. On the bright side I think I gathered quite a bit of useful knowledge while I was there. Now can anyone point me in a direction to a good solid company to get started. I am not against going and getting my P&C. I currently have my life, health, and annuities licenses. I like the insurance biz but not the way they want it done. I think I am too ethical to work for them . Any help will be truly appreciated.

Have you considered becoming a fully independent agent? From what you've posted here, it sounds like you'd be happier with holding the reins a little more and having more freedom to work the way you want to work.

The downside is, of course, a lack of structure, training, and support. But if you're not happy, then you're not happy. Period!

I was thinking the same thing. Go independent. I know I couldn't work for a company I love being self employed. Although sometimes that paycheck coming in no matter what looks good. That being said I haven't taken a paycheck in more than 2 yrs and don't think I will even though times are pretty hard here as I was on the wrong track (working for AFLAC) now I work for my self.

I should have listened to the folks here and ran the other direction but I learned a lot from AFLAC so not all is lost LOL.

So I guess I can look into going Indy. I just dont know how much goes into be indy. How do you go about it. I am going to have to do alot of research on that. Bankers was a horrible style of selling. I have had people tell me know more than a dozens times and have my FTR in my ear yelling at me to set the appt. I know you have to overcome a few objections but geez there has to be a limit! LOL!

Do a search for Delta76"s posts. Loaded with good info about marketing with the phone and having the right attitude going into it.

Sell Medicare Supplement policies. Low learning curve. Low initial investment. If you have a good work ethic begin selling when you get appointed with a company.

Damn, that sounds like an ad. "Earn $150,000 first year working two days a week four hours a day from home while surfing porn sites." :D

All kidding aside. Med Supps are easier to sell than any other kind of insurance. A great product to lead off with and cross sell other products to your new clients.

Give me a call and at least explore it. The call is free and so is the information.

Someone help me out here. It still sounds like a sleazy ad. :D

Ha!

THanks Frank I needed a little pick me up. I am a little upset that I had to walk out today because of a choice over ethics. Now I just dont know where to go or do. I dont want to give up on the insurance career but I have a really bad taste in my mouth after my first experience with it. I guess I need to take a few days to think. Thank you to the people that have left a comment thus far!

Jim,

I may take you up on that. I am going to shut it down for a day and then come up with a new plan. The thing that stinks is the money I set aside for bills is pretty much gone so now I am not sure how I can start again. I dont need to make a ton but at least enough to keep the lights on! LOL! I am willing to listen to any good advice.
