I Was Captive Now I'm Independent

I just recently became independent during the holidays. I've had some success. I'm a newbie in the industry had my license for over a year and just started using them consistently in November 2014. I was working a full-time job in an independent senior living community for almost 2 years. A new company came in and purchased the community so that pushed me out that's what pushed me into the insurance industry full-time.

I have a good rapport with the residents where I was working and some of them are actually my clients, but my challenge is getting beyond this familiar place into other senior communities for leads.

Any suggestions on how to transition from this familiar place to another senior community and how to get leads with seniors?
