If Money or Family Was No Issue...

I agree with several things posted in here.

#1. It is ALL about perspective
#2. I have a car, cell phone, USPS, and can work anywhere
#3. It can and does work anywhere, and I'm sure there are some honey holes.

Short of moving to a place that may or may not be a honey hole, I have considered moving where I'd like to see, and making it work. If I wanted to see snow (although I don't know who would do it on purpose LOL) I'd go to MN, sand go to FL... Me, I'd like to spend some more time in Paso Robles, CA. I was there for a short time, it was beautiful... might do it someday, for the scenery.

I've also thought a step further of what country... looked briefly at Brazil and couple of other smaller countries... blogs made it sound better for locals, not so much for outsiders. Broad statements.... just spent an afternoon drinkin Miller Lite and google is all. I was diggin the thought of panama hat, shorts, fish tacos and beer :)

SLO county is where I was talking about. Great climate, enough money and California wine. :)

Ever watch international house hunters on cable? That will really give you the itch to live somewhere else for a while.

Sorry, don't even understand your post. I see Atlanta as a resident of 15 years and as a decendant of residents, both my parents were born up the street at Crawford Long...my mother taught at a mostly minority school, my father was on the board of directors and coached basketball at our local Boys Club, and now does mission trips from Africa to India, and I am my parent's son. So I am entierly missing your point about sinking to a level and :err: picture painting.

You said my elderly client was ignorant about the crime, when it is in fact a very high crime area. Heck, even the college students at GA Tech want to conceal carry on campus...and the funny thing is, it's better than it used to be.

I gave up the rose colored lenses when I graduated college and moved to the big big city...they are now colorless and I view this city clearly and think its a great place to be and work and I have lots of clients and leads, as you are now aware, so pahleeze! no I don't feel the need to hand out business cards and report back to you, I have fresh leads to run all over your 'honey hole', and my aged client is happy with her check from arbys and is enjoying her early retirement, thanks but no thanks to a transfer downtown, she may be ignant, but she ain't dumb.

First my honey hole is the APD, I handle voluntary benefits for them. I guess they see your numbers- so they buy insurance from me.

If you think it's so horrible then you don't know the people at all and you need to go and get to know the people. Not just buy a lead and sale them something. A few bad apples spoils the bunch in your opinion. 500,000 people live in the city limits, Again 95% of the people that live in those areas are hard working, God fearing, kind hearted people. So it's obvious that you've only been there to collect a check. Remember you got Leads!:goofy:

Listen, like I've said I've never had a problem in any of those areas. Of course there is crime in the city but I've never been so scared that I run red lights at night. I've never heard anyone, male or female, saying sh*t like that.:nah: That's a sign you've been watching way too much tv.

If you think it's so bad then stop working and living in those areas. If your client is scared to work downtown then she did the right thing and retired.

You run FE Leads in Brookhaven?

I call Bullsht.

Matter of fact you can meet me tomorrow and we can go work the areas together. I'll be off Hank Aaron at 9.

I really don't understand your issue with my comments.
My client, who is 60+ black woman says she dosn't want to manage a place in a high crime area in downtown, you say she's ignorant.
I work there, used to live there, and have family history all over those neighborhoods.
It is, like you say, alot of good honest folks and some not so goods in the bunch, one must have street smarts.
If I didn't enjoy rolling those streets and meeting the people, I wouldn't invest marketing dollars in those zips.
I keep my back straight, head up, and if I see a crew who look like they run the building, I walk directly up to them and announce my intentions, and they are always very accommodating for the insurance man.
Every dot on that map is exactly where I go, I never said it was horrible, I actually love working down there...i had to fight for every lead in ATL because it's been another agent's territory, I only get overflow...and now, recently he's gone.
BS on Brookhaven? Why, it's not a bad area, nor is it downtown...I mean, honestly there's very little for me to understand your posts at me...except looking back at your previous 60 or so, I'm beginning to understand your angle, the majority of them are socio-political and have little to do with insurance sales.
So please, good luck finishing college, good luck with the honey...and btw I always stop at those redlights, I just don't sit there waiting to get carjacked after dark in Vine City. Maybe I'll pm u next time I'm there.

Ignorance= Lacking knowledge or awareness in general;. My point was that she would probably have made a lot of money down there. That's it's always "jammed packed".

I just don't think you're running final expense leads in Brookhaven. I know Brookhaven very well I'm there everyday and WENT to school there. I don't know anyone that's even dropping leads in the area. It's a waste of time and money. It has to be a response rate of something like .0001% the median income has to be something like 100k. Not a lot of FE money here especially the old money... Sounds like Bs.

It's funny that you mention every hood in the area that you ride through. You're scary but you ride through the worst areas in Atlanta on a nightly basis. Bs.

You go up to the group of boys that run the building.. BS. :twitchy:

Sounds like something that you've heard from back in the project days and speaking in stereotypes.

You're suspect... You selling FE in Johns creek too right?

My offer stands come run leads with me. I'll give you the first sale. You name the day.

Show and prove.

You keep saying she's ignorant about the crime in the area, when in fact it is a high crime area...hello?!

Ok, so we are talking about the same Brookhaven...the one with only 2 leads on my map...out of 100 or so pins in ATL, that's really what you're focusing on??

First of all, those leads are on Buford Hwy, and secondly do you think, just maybe, there's a reason I only have two leads in that area?? There's one at Windmont Apts. off Clairmont, he was a retired GM worker, and the other was just up the street on Deering Cir, right off the end of the airport (high class huh?) and that lead card was blank, i was credited for it.

The neighboorhood names I listed were where my parents and grandparents had homes years ago...I work those areas and many others, as seen on the map. I'm not "scary", and I never said 'nightly'. I'm clicking a button on my MapApp to show me 'All Contacts', so it is what it is.

It's how I was trained...it's not good to appear confused and disoriented, so instead of wondering around searching for the apartment, and/or if there is a group hanging out in front of the building entry, I don't just go up and wiggle past everyone, instead I stand at the base of the stairs and say excuse me, i'm the insurance man, do you know where so-and-so lives? when you show that respect, they give it back in kind...usually, whomever is in charge will send a couple young kids to take me to my door. Now I don't even have to worry about my car, even it's safe.
You're suspect... You selling FE in Johns creek too right?
No leads in Johns Creek...the conversation is downtown ATL, I showed you a map of my leads...and suspect? c'mon.
My offer stands come run leads with me. I'll give you the first sale. You name the day.

Like I said, i may PM you next time i'm in the area...but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be 'proving'...?

I've heard same those stories too.

It's just my take that you're taking second hand knowledge from someone that must be really old. The shift from an all white area to a black one happened about 40-50 years ago. (must be that decline you heard about) Now the areas are becoming multi cultural districts. The city that you're speaking of just doesn't exist now. False Narrative.

Again, it's all about perspective...

Like I said before good people are good people. Black white brown, rich or poor.

1 for 2, 2 no shows today 73.71 a month, I appreciate them more than they know.

You win.:err:
