I don't have to google because I have a honey hole down there.
Perspective is everything, if a person isn't used to being around poor black/white people then a person might say it's ghetto/trailer trash.
I love those areas and the clients, cool, down to earth, very direct people. I was always taught-Scared money don't make no money. Like any other major city, a person just has to be street smart.
Don't get me wrong, the areas are full of sharks but 95% of people are kind and just trying to get by.
Go experience it for yourself, hand out some business cards, spark a conversation, then give us your feedback.
Well you're right, I suppose I should give downtown ATL a go....seeing as how I've already spent the money on all those leads and all...

Oh wait...I guess I only have to Google the location of the Police Station, and the closing time of the Arbys, because I don't remember any police stations "1 block away" from that Arbys, as you said...
See, I already "know the area" very very well, I used to be around for Saturday nights at Backstreets, I know for an absolute fact how shady the area is.
I also used to live in Little 5 Points, and also lived beside the intersection of Ponce and Boulevard for awhile, where once I went out and told the hookers they should be on the South side of Ponce, not the North Side...(ask your honey hole if she remembers me, lol), their pimps got a little upset with me, but hustled the ho's southward when they realized my dial was all the way up on 11.
My family has 100+ years history beating the streets of Spring and Peachtree...Cabbage Town, Edgewood, College Park, English Ave...I've heard first hand accounts from my family of how the city fell, from my grandparents, and also my dad doing ride-along with me, pointing out all his old haunts from the Fed Prision to the West End.
I was doing FE in 2004 when the projects were still standing...if I saw a pack of yout's practicing their 'hard' look, I'd march right up to them and say "I'm the insurance man, looking for Ellie Maye", and it would be comical the service I would get..."right this way sir, she stay over there"
My appologies, but please remind me, are you trying to convince a seasoned FE agent to go into the hood (no need), or are you still recomending that a 60+ year old lady take a job at a fast food joint down in the center of the highest crime area of the city...
Atl Crime Map...MapATL - Atlanta Crime
the Arbys in question is directly under the big red circle that says "3178" which, if my math is right, is the largest number on the screen:
3178 reported crimes in that specific area, between April 2013 - July 2013.
That said, I don't walk the streets after dark down there, I do my appts in houses and apartments, and if I stop at a red light and no other cars are there, I run it...If I ever got pulled over for that, I'd have no problem telling the cop "these aren't the droids you're looking for....move along"....
The perception of it being a dangerous place is probably created by the factual record of it being a VERY high crime area.
Great place for FE.
Not so great for 60+ year old ladies at a 2am closing time .
Good luck down there, tell 'honey hole' I said Hi.
