I'm at the Mendoza Line

Maybe we should start filing complaints with the insurance companies directly rather than just complaining on the board. They have grievance and appeals for clients, maybe if we started voicing our complaints about the problems we're having and the idiotic stuff that they're doing it might help. Who says grievance and appeals can't help out the agent as well as the client

I tried that with our wonderful state agency. The complaint just disappeared into the black abyss behind the granite doors, never to be heard from again...

I had the same experience with our state agency. I filed a complaint and never heard one word from them.

There's only one method of expressing your displeasure that has any impact/effect: don't send 'em any more business.

Anything else is like jerking off with boxing gloves.

In Michigan, Coventry has one of the best PDP plans that i've seen. Alot of the other PDP companies took huge jumps this year. Sometimes you just got to deal with them even though you know there's going to be problems. Hopefully they'll come around.:nah:

I'm starting to see a disturbing pattern here!

I'm also having problems with Coventry paying for my services.

If they can't learn to love us, then we need to fight fire with fire.

I'd suggest we contact our state insurance regulators and verify if Coventry has appointed us as a licensed agent. Coventry has issues here!

New carrier Federal rules for the marketing and sales of Medicare plans went into effect on October 1, 2008, pursuant to MIPPA. In addition to state producer licensing laws, federal law requires that Medicare plans;

• Must use state-licensed producers.
• Must comply with state appointment laws.
• Must report to the state the termination of any producer, in accordance with state law.

If they have accepted business from non-appointed agents, they will pay hefty fines. :wideeyed:

I'm not sending in any new Coventry business. The issue is Coventry is a slow payer and we are not getting paid. I think it's time to take off the gloves! If you don't stand for something...

Them Jerks! :skeptical:

I've never had any issues with Coventry w/PDP plans. As a matter of fact, all of those I enrolled in this last AEP must be satisfied because I've only had 1-2 calls from those new members and the problems were resolved with a phone call to Coventry. I'm shocked I haven't had more calls from new members.

I assume others on here are referring to problems with the MA plans. Sorry to read about it. It makes the agent look bad and that's not fair. I'm so glad I've stayed away from MA's.

I've only written PDP plans with Coventry. They were good during AEP, it's OEP that I'm having a problem with. They're not acknowledging that the client can go from an MAPD to original Medicare and a PDP plan.

I mailed in an application under the same scenario about a week ago. Haven't heard back yet. They shouldn't be that stupid about this.

I thought on this, and numerous other threads, you had issues with Mutual of Omaha not paying for the PDP plans offered through Coventry's AdvantraRX?

So your not direct with Coventry. Your under Mutual's wing of protection. There is a difference. Are your commissions issues resolved?

My experience with Mutual is they respect the agent and are not playing stupid mind games with our commissions.

I give up!

:err:

That's the thing, they don't notify the agent that they're not issuing the policy, they notifiy the client. They receive a letter stating they are enrolling outside of the enrollment period. They also say please let us know if you have a special election period. When the client calls the company to find out why they're not being accepted they tell them they can't enroll until November 2009. They asked one client why did you wait so long, why didn't you enroll in this in November or December. Helloooooo, it's called OEP

Interesting... I have the exact opposite experience. I am direct w/ Coventry, and have not been able to get the BSU to straighten out my account for almost a year. Most of my problems with CCP is resolved by calling my contacts at the regional office, where the BSU does not get involved.

The BSU is a crap shoot. You don't know who you will get to answer the call (after an interminable period on hold), but it doesn't matter, because they will just file it in the round basket anyway. There is no accountability to BSU reps. This is not unique to Coventry.... I find every MAO that has a "Broker Service Unit" to be no better. Do we ever get any respect?

They have paid me on 5 of the 24 new PDP's I turned in through them(M of O). They always paid monthly renewals on the 1st week of each month until this month. Their suppose to be paying on the remaining new business this coming week, hopefully.

Everything was paying fine until M of O posted this on their website....

"As you know, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) have tightened regulations for the 2009 sales and marketing of Medicare products, including the Part D prescription drug program. Coventry just sent us the Part D compensation regulations. At first glance it appears we might need to change the compensation for AdvantraRx polices effective January 1, 2009 and beyond to be in compliance.
Be assured, we are working to make any adjustments to be as minimal as possible. As soon as we know what, if any, AdvantraRx compensation changes are required, we will communicate them to you."

Which is probable what will happen on the one I mailed in to M of O.

That's ridiculous....

The number I call to check on status for PDP applications and questions is 1-866-823-5177. I agree about them being a crap shoot. Sometimes they'll transfer me to the Advantra Freedom line.

As far as us getting respect, it has always been lacking in this job in my 25 years of doing it. AARP hasn't paid me on 2 PDP plans...they put in a service request 15 days ago with still no response.

Makes an agent....Feel Like A Number..........

I take my card and I stand in line
To make a buck I work overtime
Dear sir letters keep coming in the mail
I work my back till its racked with pain
The boss cant even recall my name
I show up late and Im docked
It never fails
I feel like just another
Spoke in a great big wheel
Like a tiny blade of grass
In a great big field
To workers Im just another drone
To ma bell Im just another phone
Im just another statistic on a sheet
To teachers Im just another child
To irs Im just another file
Im just another consensus on the street
Gonna cruise out of this city
Head down to the sea
Gonna shout out at the ocean
Hey its me
And I feel like a number
Feel like a number
Feel like a stranger
A stranger in this land
I feel like a number
Im not a number
Im not a number
Dammit Im a man
I said Im a man
