I'm at the Mendoza Line

As I was threatening to go captive, the results of my interview was: offered job with agency following completion of background check-- approximately 2 weeks. Starting pay $13.50/Hr. The real incentive was the bonus pay for sales: $2 per auto policy, $5 per homeowner policy. I laughed all the way home, until I really had a chance to think about it and am now convinced with total conviction that indy. is the ONLY way to go. My new motto: "Ship it." We will never look back and never be tempted to test the captive waters again. I have been silenced by the Mendoza line for the last time. :1arghh:

Once I lived the life of a millionaire,
Spent all my money, didn't have any care.
Took all my friends out for a migthy good time,
We Bought bootleg liker, champagne and wine.

Then I began to fall so low,
Lost all my good friends, have nowhere to go.
If I get my hands on a dollar again,
I'll hang on to it till that eagle grins.

'Cause, nobody knows you
When you're down and out.
In your pocket, not one penny,
And as friend, you don't have any.

When you get back up on your feet again,
Everybody wants to be your long lost friend.
I said it's strange, without any doubt,
Nobody knows you when you're down and out.

Oooo nobody knows you,
When you're down and out
In your pocket, not one penny
And as friends, you don't have any
When you get back up on your feet again,
Everybody wants to be your long lost friend.
I said it's strange, without any doubt
Nobody knows you, (Nobody knows you)
Nobody knows you, (Nobody knows you)
Nobody knows you when you're down and out.

I am, by no means, a sage in the insurance industry. But, one thing I do feel that I am an expert in is all of the ways to NOT sell insurance. I'm referring to the "revolving door" agencies who's method of making money is to constantly recruit newbies so they can pay their "training and licensing" fees, go out there blindly with one product and sell a policy or two before they quit-- leaving the renewals to the agency. The other that comes to mind, is the marketing via inbound phone calls direct to the agent. These keep popping up like summer showers in the south, only to fade away after flopping. I tell you my brothers and sisters, there's only one way to rock. Serve only one master, and that is yourself. YOU GOTTA SPEND MONEY TO MAKE MONEY! My belated new year's resolution is to invest heavily in leads-- which means I will be researching this forum to gain suggestions. Thanks to all of you, for your input and experiences...

And another week goes by without M of O and AARP paying PDP commissions.....will it ever end?

You guys apparently are not aware of the new CMS rule. You have to get permission from the carriers to complain about not being paid and you have to keep those permission slips on file. And if they failed to pay you last year on some cases then you dont get paid on the renewals this year because the renewals cannot be greater than the initial commission that was not paid last year. Also, failure to service the case will result in suspension of renewals which you were never paid anyway.

As a reminder, those of you who have not completed the new CMS required certification module on "How to Complain About Not Being Paid" will not be paid. Unfortunately that certification module is not available yet but it is anticipated that it will be completed by the next AEP. Please do not call to complain about not being paid as this only causes further delays and causes the carriers to lose profits from the interest on the funds they are not paying you with.

One last point. Many of you here are still submitting paper applications instead of using the online enrollment process. This only delays things further. When you do not use the online enrollment you are missing out on a great opportunity to start not getting paid almost immediately. (note: The online enrollment system is currently not working. It is anticipated that it will become available again at the end of OEP when there is more time to work on it).

Let's all work together to make this the best OEP ever!!
