Immediate coverage.. Lol

That is where the actuary, underwriter and agents come in. Before the claims.

Most claims that I have worked where Lincoln Heritage was involved, the claimant was happy. Most of the claims I have worked where Bankers was involved, not so much.

Casinos don't want you to win,,, to much. But they definitely want winners.
I find the attitudes Bankers puzzling.. Washington National is their sister company and I think the claims departments are in the same building but you could not ask for a company than to pay better on their cancer and accident claims than WN..

Well said!

f you've had a client die in the 1st 2 years and the policy actually paid- consider yourself lucky-

I've been very lucky then. Now GI is another story. 2 last year that didn't make it. One I was sure it was a lost hope, but had other coverage there and needed service. The other... she pulled one over on me and her kids... but I'm sure is she doesn't care a bit now. :)

No insurance company wants to pay illegitimate claims. New customer, major claim, they are going to look closely at it. Old customer, major claim, they tend to bend over backwards. New customer, life claim, looking at application.

The letter from LBL just went out to the beneficiary today, 133 day after his mom died, The policy was 8 months old at date of death: The claim has been approved for the full amount plus interest owed.

I'm especially happy about this one because the son is a young kid, barely 20 years old. He lost his dad when he was little and now his mom too.

The 133 day delay was not LBL's fault: The APS took forever and a day to get sent back from her doctor.

Policy's first draft was 3rd Wednesday of January 2019, she died the end of August 2019.

Lets all just be honest here- Level issued policies are just graded policies with level pricing- Insurance companies have no intentions of paying in the 1st 2 years-

Just got a letter from Americo that they will be paying on a death claim where the insured had been covered for only 9 months and then passed away. This is my second contestable claim paid this year. The first was LBL, and now Americo. These are also, thankfully, the only two contestable claims I have had this year.

If an agent is getting as many claims contested as the agents here say I would definitely say there is a quality control issue. The company. The client base or the agent.
Still don't have to take my shoes off to count contestable claims that weren't paid! Just had one, in fact, that I thought might get denied. Teenager, on a rider on his dad's policy, was shot in a drive-by. Claims manager would not make a final decision until they had the Medical Examiner's report. The M.E. wouldn't release the report until the investigation was complete. After 7 months, the claims manager finally said to just go ahead and pay it. I delivered the check myself about 3 weeks ago.

You got to try to write clean business, right? In my opinion, the easiest policy to replace is the one that must be replaced and that is a clean sheeted app still in the contestable period. I find a lot more of those than I should for sure.

So far, knock on wood, all of my contestable claims have been paid but one, and that one is still pending because a family fight between the deceased's daughter (beneficiary of policy #1) has sole authority to sign the release to get the APS. Said daughter hates the deceased's domestic partner (beneficiary of policy #2 with the same carrier).

The daughter doesn't need the money. The domestic partner is desperate for the money. This has been going on since July 12th, 2019. She has not answered one letter, phone call, or knock on the door from me. She has since moved and changed her phone number. Had I known this was going to be an issue I'd have told my client to take care of this with a lawyer before he passed. LBL says they can't process without an APS. They have sent documents to the adult daughter to sign to get this done and the adult daughter simply sent them back unsigned.
