Is it possible? Yes, they're totally allowed to. Are they capable? No, they can't afford it.

If they could afford it, they wouldn't be subsidy eligible in the first place, a key part of this law.

The legal question in here is "do they have a RIGHT to access to this citizen-only subsidy as non-citizens?" The answer will be no, and this case will be thrown out. It's clearly defined in law, and the law will be upheld as written.

Hi Ray. Thanks, but my question was rhetorical. His argument is weakened by the fact that they can purchase coverage. He asks; where else can they go for MM; he states they are not eligible for Group, which is not correct; we all know insured who are dead now.

Your reply above is making my point. The point of your posts is that these people should receive some type of financial assistance from the govt. As you have seen from some of the prior posts, I along with others may not agree with that position.

By the way, since you are advocating for financial assistance, may I assume that you have paid premium payments for undocumented persons?

Just for clarification.....
SSN required by employer for job in the first place. Group insurance is a byproduct of having a job. Your post above said they are paying payroll taxes, if so, they have a SSN.

Allowing people to keep their insurance is that too much to ask? And you must not be in a border state. And I don't get to keep my insurance and I'm a US citizen and an agent. Did you not write your opinions to the gov? I did and im comfortable and i even got a call from hss about it.

Taking away the insurance plan of anyone who applied for insurance is not smart. The the fastest way for a non US citizen to get deported out of the United States is a hospital bed. A legal resident and a non legal resident this can happen to them. We have spoke to people where this has happened to their relatives. And of course they left behind a huge medical bill for the hospital to absorb and bill it forward. So yes we have laws. But there is reality occuring. Are you aware this goes on in some border states? And it even occurs in Midwest states. It may not happen in every state.

As far as leaving the hospital with a big bill, well, they were already leaving US taxpayers with the bill, whether its through insurance or through the hospital. It doesn't change, except by not providing subsidies, the total bill is likely less.

We simply can't afford to be the country that provides health insurance for the entire world. Let their home country pay the bills.

Bill forward any bill to that country's foreign aid. Watch the governments start to take measures to mediate that costs..
