You would have to issue 1000+ policies in a year. That would take about 5000+ leads annually, 100 a week. $2500+ in weekly lead cost. Never heard of anyone being able to work that many leads a week.

OP likely worked for a big online retailer, but who knows for sure.

$800k in a year is not that hard if you have systems, processes and support. If all OP did was make the sale, then nothing stopping you from making 10 sales a day. If someone else is dialing the leads, transferring you qualified calls and all you do is get client commitment to move forward then $800k is totally doable. Someone else does the app for you, exam ordering, case management, delivery etc. (digitalbga does this for agents).

I cut my teeth at Intelliquote.com and my record day was 26 sales made. That is 26 leads turned into sales, then passed off to another person to complete the actual app so I could get back on the phone. In 1 year at intelliquote I placed $2.2m in premium. Yes, it is doable. Guess how much money I made. $130k. Yep... It was all systematized. My closing skills were the best on the team, therefor I only dealt with lead premium values of $2500+. My record phone sale there was placing a $259,000 premium case.

Agents need to think bigger. There is more opportunity and scale in this business than anyone can wrap their heads around (me included). Think scale and you will change your business.

I think the debate right now is if it was just FE he was talking about or other types of life. If it was strictly FE, then no, he didn't do it and even with your system would anyone be able to do it.

If NorthStar is truly the biggest seller for FE by phone and no one there can do it, then I doubt anyone could. For sure though, if there was a chance to sell that much FE in a year's time, then it would have to be by phone.

My buddy sent me of one of One Life's production reports.

I'm told the top guy on this list does FE only and he is face to face. Not sure how in the hell he does that, but it's beyond crazy.

Here's the link.

That dude was AIL's number one agent too. I believe he joined OLA in April.

So all that production is in four months.

However, I believe OLA counts all annuity premium (even SPA's) in their counts.

NS is the biggest independent agency selling FE over the phone. Colonial Penn and a couple of other big insurers do 10X of what NS does.

Our top producer placed 318k last year (this only includes brand new business/no rewrites) and she did it with one carrier. This same lady might get 2nd this year behind another female agent who is on track to beat that record.
