Independent Companies Needed/ Need Help

Hello I am not new to sales, but I am new to Insurance! I completed my class and will be licensed by the end of next week. I live in Michigan, and Because as you know insurance is so vast, I decided to sell FE insurance. I wanted to know what do I need to do besides my license of shopping for a independent carrier? A company that offers competitive commissions. I have my own leads because previously me and my wife telemarketed for some local companies in our city, and we can just switch to telemarketing for insurance leads. We did a test run and received a good response! Also my brother in-law wants to get involved with insurance sales to! But he filed chapter 7 bankruptcy about 2 1/2 3 years ago and he did not know if he could get signed with an independence agency. Does anyone have companies I could speak with that can give me information? Also would my Brother In law be able to become a agent? He wants to write under me. My goal is to have several agents and feed them leads and I override of off what they close.
