Insert Idea

Whenever I'm in a hotel on vacation, I will always open the YP to see what health insurance adds are in there. Still see them. When I started many years ago I worked up to a 1/2 page add. It worked great. Don't know what the ROI was but it produced around 20 apps per month consistently. I have friends who have tinkered with YP add over the past 5 years. They never renew.

Under age 65ers are too into the web. Seniors are also moving in droves to the web for their info.

I still like looking at other city or state YP adds.

Couple quick YP facts... (as I am in this industry ;))

--76% of American's referance the Yellow Pages in the Average Month.
--48% of Yellow Page useds have a decision to make and either have NO company or 2 or more companies in mind.
--99% of households in USA have a Yellow Pages. (More than Cable TV, a Radio, or a Newspaper)
--88% of Yellow Pages users are likely to make a purchase.
--70% of consumers look at the larger ads when they are not sure how to make a purchase from.

Industry average is for every $1 of yellow pages advertising spent, it generates a $10 ROI.

The key is having an effective yellow pages ad.

MOST OF THE TIME, ads that were sucessful in other media, are very poor performing in yellow pages. Hiring a Yellow Pages Ad design agency is generally worth every penny.

Best dollar for dollar yellow pages advertising is done through an independent publisher (Non-utility) that demonstates high usage.
