Insurance Newbie Breaking into Senior Market

That's one of my concerns--not knowing who to trust.

I'd love to contract under a local agent but don't know how/where to find one. I'm in the Chicago suburbs so if anyone has any networking out here let me know.

I know of a really great indy opportunity. However, you would have to be willing to work the northern 1/3 of the state and none of the leads would be in Chi town or the burbs. All leads are outside of Chi town.

I'd suggest ACT (ACT! by Sage - Contact and Customer Relationship Management Software | Home) for you data management. I have a modified ACT program that works very well.

When do you take your licensing test? Also are you willing to certify for one or two MA / PDP plans and sell Major Medical?

Nimos,

The majority of agents I train are are "green" agents. Green as grass.

Working the senior market, even if you are new to insurance, is not rocket science. It really is the easiest kind of insurance to prospect for and sell, especially the way I do it.

I have spent the last sixteen years trying everything one can conceivably think of to sell Med Supps. Most things I have tried work, some better than others. However, there is one method that I keep returning to because it works better than anything else I have ever tried. The agents who I have shared that with agree.

An agent I just finished training, also new to insurance, called me the other day at noon. That was his second day on the phone. (He hated the phone when I first talked to him.) He said he had already set four appointments that morning.

There is no logical reason why you can't be earning commissions the first week if you are willing to listen and work.

If you really want help getting started give me a call. Both the call and the advice are free. When we finish talking you will have a much better idea what is involved and the direction you want to take.

Or if you prefer, purchase a white cane and stumble around like most of the rest of us did when we first started. :D

You'd never hear a local calling it "Chi town".

It's known as "Chicagoland".

After you take that geography out, what's left in Northern Illinois? Rockford? DeKalb?

Paul is right. I grew up there, La Grange Park.

I now call Chicago "a great place to be from". Thank God I'm a country boy. :D

Nimos, if you are on here now, there is no time like the present to answer your questions about how to get started. It's 9:30am. If you call within the next hour I will have time to talk. Otherwise 7am tomorrow would be a good time also.

I would definately like to know aobut this... but I cannot PM ANYONE...lol - Now that is GREEN :skeptical:

Over the last six months, I have been working on a turnkey system for people that want to get involved in the Medicare Supplement/Advantage market.

While it includes the education you need on Medicare, etc., the most valuable part is a marketing system that encompasses five different "how-to" lead and prospect generating methods - complete with examples, samples, methods and strategies that I have tested and used myself.

There will also be phone and email support.

It's not quite ready to be released yet. I demand a very high quality product. If interested when it's done, shoot me a PM so I can let you know.

Frank--

Unfortunately I haven't been on the forum in a few weeks. I'd still love to talk to you. I know you're generally available in the am. Please let me know if you'll be available tomorrow, July 21st, and at what time.

The funny thing is that I grew up in LaGrange Park as well. I went to LT. What a small world!

Thank you.
