Internet Phone Lagging

Seems like so many marketing reps at FMO/IMO/GAs are working from home now.

But there phone lines are so buggy using their company internet phones on their home network.

Its irritating to try and have a conversation when there is that dead-silence lag for a moment, then both people start talking at the same time, then both stop, one starts just before the other starts talking, both keep talking over each other then stop and ask what the other one said.

It pays to have an excellent VOIP phone and service that might cost more so clients and prospects don't have to go through this frustration!

Get the max internet speed that your provider offers. I live in a little mountain town and even we can get fiber.

The fiber optic networks only cover 15% of homes. Cities that say they are fiber is a half truth. The fiber runs down the main roads and connect to the main hub exchanges.

The exchanges convert the analog signals from the subdivision to digital for streaming to the digital station

Basically unless you run fiber in your home network to the modem box to the phone poll to the street hub. you are basically pumped up analog. That is why you have varying download speed from cable or phone wired companies.

On top of those issues, people use crap routers from their providers instead of buying one that has two way or dual bands for wifi. Usually the $150 model..

Remember, kids eat up bandwidth and you need to set aside bandwidth for your work at home networks.

FYI, offices are near major highways and are closer to fiber networks, but the buildings are still configured with cat-5 cable or a step above straight analog. So you need to have your offices wired for fiber to the building connection that connects to your ISP Fiber Provider.
