IRS 2014 Forms Related to Subsidies & Penalties Released.

OK, I give up.

AC's link gave me a page with 712 IRS forms. Tried searching using terms like ACA and Affordable and came up blank. How do you find forms specific to Obamacare?

Somarco, if you're referring to Draft Tax Forms , you have to scroll back to 7/24/2014. That's the date when the IRS barfed out the majority of the new ACA forms for individuals.

The instructions on how to fill out those forms are still forthcoming. IRS is having trouble finding words to explain how to complete them. Undoubtedly they will be PAGES long.

FYI... IRS Form 1095-A and associated instructions was posted to the IRS Forms website today. According to the instructions, 1095-A is sent to the Insured from the Marketplace. Insured uses the 1095-A data to complete IRS Form 8962, to be filed with the Federal Tax Return.

See 8/28/2014 Publication Date: Draft Tax Forms

It's looking like every Subsidy Recipient in America will have at least 3 IRS Health Insurance Related forms to interact with this next filing season. H&R Block and other Tax Preparation services will be absolutely swamped!

IRS employees must be taking a 4-day Labor Day weekend. The usual midnight update at the Forms Publication website was made during the early afternoon today.

I would imagine HR Bloccccck will have to impose a surcharge on subsidy filers. Time consuming............but still a good deal for the ones getting the subsidy.

Thanks AC, but you missed form 8962

I didn't miss it Somarco. It was in the 7/24/2014 batch of forms that I referenced to start this thread.

Anyway..here's something that will make some people think twice about purchasing, or renewing their plan on-exchange for 2015. They may want to buy off-exchange.

Today (9-18-2014) the IRS released the instructions for completing 8962, the Premium Tax Credit form that all subsidy recipients will have to trudge through.

Accountants were wondering why it was taking so long for the IRS come out with instructions for completing PTC Form 8962. Now the reason is clear...The instructions are 15 pages long!

--AND--

The Instructions for either claiming an exemption from the requirement to have health insurance (IRS Form 8965), or calculating your penalty tax if you can't think of an exemption, was released today too. This is 13 pages long.
