I have a female client age 79 in great health who is considering canceling her 6k SIWL RNA policy for a 6k Columbian policy. She is paying $58.47 monthly and told me a Columbian agent can get her the same coverage 6$ a month cheaper. Does this sound right??

Any suggestions?

I don't believe so....I don't have the full list in front of me but I believe Columbian will be $3-4 higher monthly. I am looking at a 80F for 5k...RNA - $52.66, Columbian $55.70

I have replaced many CL policies with RNA. Never ran into a situation where CL was less. may be on the older ages but that's where to use Monumental.

JD thats good advice. Replacing columbian policies has been quite easy for me as well. In the past I have used Foresters to replace them with very good results. Since their price increase it might not be so easy as before. I did just fill out RNA contracts and am hoping to use them on a regular basis.

When I am trying to replace someone when the monthly savings are not that much its nice to sell the benefits of a Fraternal such as Foresters. Spend time going over and selling the free member benefits. You never know what their hot button might be. Also spend some time selling yourself

And yes I know with Foresters to get them you need to spend 10K. Moving people up to ten from 6 might not be that hard if they see something they like. Sell the sizzle not the steak.

Was this client still shopping for insurance?

Did the replacing agent tell her of the contestable period - although she is is good health an agent should advise her of this if they are doing a replacement.

If you are staying in touch with this client and providing service aren't you worth the $6 per month?

That's ^^^ the 1st thing I thought...u arent worth a lousy $6/mo? She's willing to go thru the entire process again & start her contestability period all over for $6?? Do u stay in touch with your clients?

According to Greg "the insurance man", most ppl rarely bother to replace policies for a few $$!
