My take after just a couple of agencies.
You need to think about an exit strategy in the future. IMO, much easier to sell a business named "Main Street Insurance" instead of "Sad Sack Insurance." [ok, if you are a WWII fan/comic book fan, you might like that name ]
But if you are going to sell your agency down the road, much easier not to be attached to your name IMO. But if your agency plan is to be just you & no staff, then use your name as you won't have a business, you'll have a full time job
But seriously, not enough agents think through this before starting an agency. I do believe it is important as part of a long term strategy that you take some time to think about your goals/dreams for your agency.
