Is This Appropriate?

My take after just a couple of agencies.

You need to think about an exit strategy in the future. IMO, much easier to sell a business named "Main Street Insurance" instead of "Sad Sack Insurance." [ok, if you are a WWII fan/comic book fan, you might like that name:) ]

But if you are going to sell your agency down the road, much easier not to be attached to your name IMO. But if your agency plan is to be just you & no staff, then use your name as you won't have a business, you'll have a full time job:)

But seriously, not enough agents think through this before starting an agency. I do believe it is important as part of a long term strategy that you take some time to think about your goals/dreams for your agency.

I still think Sack insurance is a good name much better than Main Street because it is memorable. Your remember AFLAC because of the duck and GEICO because of the gecko. There are dozens of Main Street this and that but how many Sacks?

Hey if a guy with the name Weiner could sell people on getting their vote to be a Congressman be proud of your name it is what you make it. Weiner showed us he was proud of his Weiner....................................name
