I've been on the phone for 3 months

I like the idea of using a (very) targeted list. Sure seems to make the dialing more effective.

Has anyone had success with or even tried using an offshore company to dial for appointments in the senior market? I'm now researching the huge phone industry in the Phillipines due to the fact that English is (nearly) their second language and they're used our culture. Supposedly 98% of filipino's speak fluent English and those that are working in the phone sector are highly educated and speak with a barely detectable accent.

I've read where you can have a full-time staff member dedicated to YOUR business for 40 hours a week for about $325. I'm thinking that, since mailing 1,000 lead mailers costs right now about $350 and you're not guaranteed to make anything - maybe pull 1% or 1.5%...that having someone call into this targeted market for 40 hours in a week would have to generate more results than the 10-15 leads you could get through a mailing.

Any thoughts???

I recently contracted with 724 Care out of New York for 40 hrs at $360 for telemarketing leads for final expense. The calls were made out of the Phillipines. Horrible leads. Some didn't speak English, some were 50 miles away, some were in their 30s, etc.

Do us all a favor and tell us the website for the company we need to avoid. That one isn't familiar to me. Thanks

I needed to think about this but I too got sucked into using them. Can't remember the website.

Their telemarketer was a total ***. She was calling on Med Supps and had no idea of what to say. The company was supposed to be the experts and only required some basic information. As it turned out, they used my script outline like it was the bible.

Don't remember what I paid but it was a total loss.

724care.net is the website. Their name was given to me by a MGA here in Los Angeles named Larry Reader. He works for Columbia Management (Shep Cutler).

There you go! Larry is the one who gave me that name. He has no personal experience with any lead company and has not sold insurance. He's a nice guy and I'll leave it at that.

He also lives about 2 blocks from me.

I have used local telemarketers with bad results.

No shows, said they were one thing and ended up being another, etc.

So, I use reply cards, current clients, and referrals.

It is interesting how all of us who have done this for a while gravitate to the same ways of doing business. There is no instant success formula, but there are a lot of mistakes to be learned from. To all of the folks here asking how do I get new clients and build my business, read no further than the last post, and for those of you reading this post, stop here.

Reply Cards, current clients, referrals and persistence will earn you a good living and build a business. ;)
