Just broke overrides gone Anthem. I’m owed an apology

Loa model . Can probably still make a little money . But forget the override the small agency was making of $75-$100 and app and $4 -$5 a month on back end renewals . Not getting the $100 or so an app marketing money hurts .

I read the Anthem email sent to you. They mention $50 increase on "plan changers", but I'm thinking that's $50 on yearly renewals for everyone. Thoughts?

I originally read the CMS proposal thought they made that clear that renewals will not jump for 2025 but will for 2026. Now, rereading it, it states replacement rate is the "(FMV+100)/2". The question is... will there be 3 payment types: Initial (FMV + $100), Replacement ((FMV+$100)/2), and Renewals (FMV/2)?

Just a side note, I've followed the CMS proposals since November. You've been given a lot of crap with your comments, but I've agreed with your remarks. CMS isn't going through all this trouble to have the FMO's untouched. FMO's will be paid, but not via production of business.

Correct . It looks like 3 levels of payments . I also didn't think the replacement of like to like at the $50 increase would start until 26. It appears that they've segregated that $50 between replacement and renewals . The $50 extra won't start until 2026 if at all. It's also possible like pre 2020 they "freeze " renewals were they are permanently like an med sup and ad the $50 to renewals starting in 2026. I listened to great podcast that I've and others have linked on here from agent boost. 2 very smart fmo partners . They talk to carriers hrs a day they say. So they did one this week. Their take was as all thought 6 weeks ago everything was ok for fmo's and overrides would continue . But something happened the past month . They're not sure if cms reached out to carriers or carriers reached out to fmo's for clarification . In ways they think carriers are using this as barginaing chip to slash or ban overrides to fmo's . I definitely believe all companies or payments under the fmo level are gone . The mga's and ga's .

This is why it's confusing. The chart below (directly from CMS document) shows the 2025 renewal on the top with FMV + 100 / 2. The chart underneath does not work out to be this amount.

This is a shit show. The carriers need to just publish their interpretations and move the on...

See thats they key and I've brought this up many times . Fmv can be any # from cms fmv to lower. Cms only said it increases above the fmv by $100 or $50. Like fmv for 2024 on new to medicare in 2024 $611. Any carrier could have said our fmv is $400 . Cms could say fmv for 2025 is $630 . Carriers can say were paying $530 fmv plus the $100 or $630 total . Or $400 plus $100 or $500 total. Agents are underestimating how serious public CO's are about getting profit margins up . They don't care if rev falls in the short run . They could easily give agents under fmv especially with the extra $100 or $50 they have to pay . But based on previous yrs carriers don't disclose there fmv until the end of sept or so .
