Keywords Question

According to me there must be just few keywords which are related to your content. B'cos your keyword density must be low in your content.

Having or not having the keyword tag will not make a big difference, but since you know about it and can have it, you should.

As for what to put there, just make sure you put the keyword or keywords that specific page is targeting. If you're targeting more than 4 to 6 keywords on that page, you're probably targeting too many.

This is an example of what I would put if I were putting a list of keywords for this post:

keyword tag, meta keyword tag, keyword tag for google, keyword tag for bing, keyword tag for yahoo

Remember that SEO is not about fooling or tricking the search engines or the visitors to your site. It's about creating relevant content. All of the content on your pages should be relevant to the keywords you are targeting on those pages.

And also, as mentioned, make sure the description tag and title tag are being implemented on every page.

Next question, how do you choose a quality keyword phrase that will enable decent traffic to your site?

Go to Google and click on: Advertising, Adwords, Opportunities, Keyword Tool. Type in a keyword phrase and Google will display monthly search volume, and average cost per click for a variety of related search phrases.

Cost per click can help assess the level of competition. Also search on a phrase and see if the first page of results shows the phrase in the meta title of the top ranking sites. If they do, it may be hard to rank will on that phrase. If they don't, you stand a better chance of ranking for that phrase.
